UOBs Business Banking segment was big support to small businesses during the economic turmoil. In 2009, the company introduced the Government Assistance Scheme where it worked with government agencies to help its clients with extension of government loans. The various offerings in this segment are: Deposits: UOB offers its business clients with a Current Account facility that has checking facilities and services such as Business Internet Banking and Phone Banking Investment Solutions: based on the risk appetite of the client, UOB suggests some investment options to its clients - Fixed deposits: The clients can choose form a wide range of deposits having varied tenures. These fixed deposits can be in both Singapore Dollar or Foreign Currency - Structured Deposits: Combinations the merits of a conventional fixed deposit and derivatives instruments on one or more assets such as equities, interest rates, bonds, currencies and commodities - MaxiYield: Is a foreign exchange-linked structured product and is also known as a Dual Currency Investment. This plan provides an opportunity for the client to get higher returns on their base currency invested Business Loans and Credit: The bank assists small business in meeting their short and long term financial requirements such purchase of new machinery or premises etc - Overdraft Facility: Enables the clients to get extra funds other than their account balance with the facility of anytime repayment and interest being charged on only the amount used - The UOB Platinum Business Card: Provides the client with business with financial flexibility and offers savings on business expenses. This card also offers many privileges and benefits which are essential for incurring business expenses. It also offers a working capital line that caters to the growing business needs and gives 0.3% rebate on the clients monthly business expenses - Business Property Loan: Financing is available for various types of business premises, including office unit, shop unit, shop house, factory and warehouse. In addition to this the clients can also choose to combine it with working capital requirements such as an overdraft facility for maximum flexibility

- Hire Purchase Financing: UOB Business Banking provides hire purchase financing for a wide range of machinery, equipment and commercial vehicles that are used in carrying out of the business. While the bank becomes the legal owner of the asset, the client would remain the hirer till they can repay the loan full

Trade Finance: UOB supports its clients in their domestic and international transactions in order to help them expand they reach globally.
