EDUCATION

Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI: MA in Education, 2010 - 2012. Learning and Technology concentration. GPA 3.9. Created www.studybio.com. Through coursework became involved with #edchat and #scichat on Twitter. Broadened my knowledge about the history of education, curriculum, and educational inquiry. Learned about educational technology tools and their proper use. Created a PLC online with like-minded educators, which led to my creation of Study Designed. University of North Carolina Asheville, Asheville, NC: BS in Biology, 2008 - 2010 Burroughs Wellcome Fellow, received a full-tuition scholarship, and $5,000 stipend for every year after graduation to teach Science in NC. Received a grant to attend the Brandeis Collegiate Institute in 2009. Attended the Burroughs Wellcome Foundation conference in 2011. Traveling with the Burroughs Wellcome Foundation to Singapore in the summer of 2012. Completed the Teacher Licensure Program in HS General Science and Biology. Completed advanced science coursework as well as the liberal arts program.
