Processing steps for data elements to be created using LSMW

1) Maintain Object attributes : Choose the import technique as Direct Input Method. Choose the object as
0001 Loading PO Long Texts and the Method as 0001 . Save the entries. 2) Maintain Source structures : Create a name for the structure that needs to be used as source structure as TEXT_HDR Header for Long Text (With a meaningful documentation) TEXT_LINES Long Text Lines Save the entries.

3) Maintain Source fields : Refer to the data map to create the source fields. Create an ID field with record
types 1 & 2 resp. for the two structures defined in step 2 for header and trailer format. Save the entries. SOURCE FIELDS --- TEXT_HDR --- STYPE C(001) Header for Long Text Identifying value = 1. ---FIELD1 ---FIELD2 ..Refer to Data Mapping Sheet --- TEXT_LINES --- STYPE C(001)

4) Maintain Structure Relations : For all the available structures in IBIP , create relationships between the
Source & Target Structures. Relate /SAPDMC/LTXTH /SAPDMC/LTXTL Save the entries. Long texts - header << TEXT_HDR Long texts - line << TEXT_LINES

5) Maintain Field names and conversion rules : Refer to the data map for any constants / rules which need
to be assigned to the target fields. Choose Auto-Field mapping on the drilldown of the Extras menu. You may Choose the following options on the dialog box a. Choose Process all Target Fields. b. Choose Only Process Initial Target fields. c. Choose Match field with identical names. d. Choose Only apply rule Transfer (MOVE). e. Also Check the CheckBox for Only if source field is not initial.

f. g. Choose Without confirmation to finally accept the proposed assignments. After completing the auto assignment, choose for the Drill down Non-assigned source fields from the Extras menu. This would tell you if there are any non-assigned source fields. These fields may then be searched manually in the structure and then assigned.

For all Other Fields

h. Place the Cursor on each Field and Press on A Pop up would appear

(Insert Rule CTRL +F4 )

Check the FOLLOWING CHECK BOX . The following Step is Mandatory .
