Courses

The Saturday School will be closed during normal school holidays. Students will be notified of these dates at the start of the course. We have the capacity to offer adult courses in some subjects; classes will be offered subject to demand and classes split accordingly. Notification will be given via the post if there is enough interest. Alternatively, adults can attend the childrens classes.
Course Descriptions
Urdu 1
This class is open to children from 6 to 16 years old. The courses will concentrate on teaching, reading and writing skills in order to be able to communicate at a good level in the chosen language. No prior knowledge is necessary.
Urdu 2
This class is open to children from 8 to 16 years old and adults. The aim of this course is to equip students with the necessary skills in order to be able to complete a GCSE. Fast tracking in the first year is available for those students with the required linguistic competence to complete a GCSE. Students must have an adequate knowledge of the 4 skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Punjabi
This class is open to children from 8 to 16 years old and adults. The course can be tailored to meet your needs whether it be beginners, GCSE level or Advanced level.
Arabic
This course will cover beginners to GCSE, depending upon demand. Requirements as other courses.
Spanish - Conversation
The aim of the Spanish Conversation course is to provide students with the skills necessary to cope in a hispanic country. This may be from asking for directions, ordering a drink or changing currency. The course is open to all over the age of 14 years old. No prior knowledge is required. Classes may be setted subject to class numbers and level of competence.

Worried about not understanding everything? No need! As classes will be taught in English however Urdu/Punjabi language will also be offered.
Fee Payment
Full payment of tuition fees should be made at enrolment. Examination fees for those students wishing to take a GCSE or Advanced level should be paid once entry decisions have been made. Payment can be in cash or by cheque (to Stretford High School).

Children (11-16 years old) 40 for 25 weeks Adults 50 for 25 weeks Family applications Family rates are available, please ask for details For those adults in receipt of certain benefits there will be a charge of 15. A letter from the relevant authority or payment book showing your name and address must be provided.
Free taster lessons will be run in all of our courses on Saturday 8th October 2011 as follows: Urdu 1 9.30am - 10.00am Panjabi Arabic Urdu 2 ICT Taster Spanish Conversation 10.15am - 10.45am 10.00am - 10.30am
Enrolment can take place following the sessions. Please enter the school via the main doors, where further information will be given regarding the rooms for the lessons.
