Operations
The Stage 3 project is performed in groups of 5 students. The group has to select one company: either one of the companies of the students in the group or a company they all agree to work on. The selected company agrees to provide the necessary data. If the company is large, a major product (or service) line has to be selected. The analysis will then focus on that particular line. The structure of the project is the following: 1. General description of the Company (Product, market, channel(s), ) and of the product / service line selected, if any. 2. Translation of the business strategy and positioning by means of qualifiers and order winners. Refer to the slide given below and discussed during the SC class. 3. Description of the Supply Chain (Operations strategy, Production process, facilities, location, ) for the selected product/service line. Refer to the slide given below. 4. Analysis of the fit between the Supply Chain and the Business strategy.

The project leads to an oral presentation. The oral presentation should last 25 minutes. It is followed by an open session with questions and answers (max 10 minutes). A copy of the slides should be made available before the presentation. No other document is required. In order to guarantee the best transfer of information among the group members, the following procedure has to be applied. If the selected company is that of a student in the group, this student is not allowed to take any role during the presentation and during the question/answers session. In order to improve the presentation skills of the participants, it is requested that at least three members of the group do speak. The project work is graded by the project supervisor. He/she can take opinion of other members of the jury. The evaluation is based on the quality of the analysis, the quality of the presentation, and, the quality of the answers to the questions
