honor of the birth of Jesus is a powerful means of teaching them the reality of Gods love in contrast with the teaching in their culture that the gods are angry and to be feared. Most of our sponsors are faithful to send every year (or many add an extra $5 a month to their regular sponsorship) for their childs birthday and Christmas. We believe that most will do that again this year, but we have so many children who do not yet have a sponsor and we cannot bear the thought of those children not receiving a Christmas gift. If you are a sponsor, would you prayerfully consider blessing an additional child? If you are not a sponsor, please consider putting a smile of happiness on a childs face this Christmas even if you have never sent an offering before. I am asking God to let no child be left out this year. Even though it is very early for the Christmas to which most of us are accustomed, God Loves Kids wishes you a wonderful, blessed Christmas this year! Lovie Phillips

sponsored child will receive his or her Christmas gift in Christs name as tangible evidence of Gods love. We also need special people to be the real Santa to unsponsored children. Every October, we ask that our sponsors give a little extra in their monthly sponsorship gift. This extra money is used to buy their child a Christmas gift. While we would love to encourage sponsors to send care packages, the taxes and duties on these presents can be unduly burdensome to the schools and homes overseas. Instead, we send the money to the schools where a teacher or houseparent chooses a gift that best suits the child, like a toy, book, game, or new clothes. One year, our children in Uganda received underwear and toothbrushes! Many of the new children receive their rst Bible as their rst Christmas gift. As you look through holiday cards from Christmas past, what do you see? You may see serene and snow covered New England villages, beautiful angels, and cuddly, adorable animals. Even the religious themed cards generally show an unrufed Mary and Joseph gazing adoringly down at their rst born. The Israel of Jesus birth was recovering from a long series of bloody civil wars and was occupied by a ruthless government. Jesus was not born, nor did he live, in a Hallmark card setting. In many ways, the child Jesus could relate to our unsponsored children, poor and living in uncertain circumstances.

The Caste System is a major issue, and the reason the religious social system of Hinduism so clearly devalues humanity.
The structure of this system says that you must always be in the caste into which you were born. The Brahmin caste is the most privileged in the society, because people in this
group are considered to be gods. Every other caste is under them. People were, and still are, identied with their caste in the society as well as in the government of Nepal. When a person becomes Christian, he or she loses their identity and becomes an outcast without standing in the community, therefore losing any social & even government recognition. You are no longer considered a Nepali and you lose your citizenship. Christianity comes with a very high price in Nepal. For the last 10 years the Church in Nepal has also been going through the persecution of Maoist who were promoting communism. Many Christian leaders were arrested and taken into labor camps, many of them never to be heard from again. The church buildings were conscated to use as communist ofces. Some of the churches were even burned down when they opposed the communists. The good news is that although the Church of Jesus Christ has been persecuted in every way, Nepal today is a country in transition moving toward a democratic republic. Politicians are working on a new constitution that promises freedom of religion,
I want to share with you a challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to God Loves Kids.
We have an opportunity to help launch a Church in Nepal which is one of the most unreached countries in the world, with almost 80% of its population being Hindu, the rest Buddhist or animist, and less than 1% Christian. Yes, I said plant a church in a country where Hinduism is the major religion. In fact, Nepal is a country known as the last Hindu kingdom in the world, and with Hinduism comes many spiritual challenges one of the greatest being the Caste System.
If you want to be a part of this great missions opportunity it will take $12,000.00 to launch the church in Nepal or $500 a month for 24 months. Any commitment large or small toward this goal will be greatly appreciated.
