We are at the end of another busy term and everyone is looking forward to a restful holiday ready for the final term for this year! Term four starts on Tuesday 25th October as Monday 24th is Labour Day (Public Holiday).
Yesterday MIS hosted the annual Piako Cultural Festival; everyone involved had an awesome daythe students performing all looked and sounded amazing. As a school community it was a great day to showcase our school, our dedicated Kapa Haka and to provide a fabulous day for our community. This year there were thirteen schools and early learning centres performing. Thank you very much to our school families and the wider Morrinsville community who have helped with the planning and setting up for the day. It is great to see schools from the community come together and celebrate what has been a very successful event. Morrinsville Intermediates Kapa Haka has been working hard for yesterdays performance. As a group they performed exceptionally well and we are very proud of them. Tumeke Kapa Haka Group. Many thanks to Ed, Tarn and Karla Tuira for their hard work and dedication to our school. Our Kapa Haka Leaders Maraea Hopa-Cribb and Kingston Higham proudly wore our newly-blessed korowai, these have been kindly donated by the Higham Whanau and Mrs Jan Illinsgworth.

Kids Marathon
On Sunday 2nd October I ran in the Kids Marathon 2011 in Flagstaff Park. Bunting from Classic Hits was the announcer, and Mr Hume was there too. I was in the top 20 to finish. It was a fun day and it was great to compete against so many kids of many ages. I came home with a medal and a t-shirt. Report by Stewart Totton
