NO REVERSE MECHANISM ALLOWED!!!!

Engine:

1.

Maximum piston displacement allowed is 4.6 cc (Participants can also use lower displacement engines!). There is no restriction on the type of IC engine (either glow or diesel cycle engine), but the engine must have throttle control.

Fuel: 1. The fuel should have the constituents: methanol, castor oil/synthetic oil, nitro methane. The percentage of nitro methane should not exceed 20% by volume in the fuel. At most one filter can be used in the fuel line.

2.

Vehicle dimensions: 1. 2. The RC car should be able to fit in a box of dimensions 550mm x 400mm x 350mm. Antennae (if used) are exempted from the height restriction. However it is advised to keep it low to avoid any entanglement in case of a tunnel.

Power supply: 1. The machine must have an onboard power supply to provide power to any mechanism requiring electric power. The potential difference between any two points on the machine should not exceed 12V at any point of time.

2.

Clutch and brake: 1. As the track may contain some loose sand, it is very likely that wheel speed will vary to a large extent. The engine may die out if the rpm goes below a certain limit. Therefore, participants are strongly advised to incorporate a clutch and a brake in their designs. Please note that these are not mandatory but are advised for maneuverability.

2.

3.

Radio controllers: 1. The machine has to be necessarily controlled by a wireless remote control system.

2.

Note that participants are required to bring 2 remote controls of distinct frequencies or a dual frequency remote control. This is done by changing the crystal used in the remote and in the servo controller. The frequency is mentioned on the crystal. Note also the teams will have to control three components of the car viz. the engine throttle, steering and brake system(if used).

3.

Exhaust: 1. All vehicles must have an exhaust system that directs the exhaust parallel to the ground or directly at the ground. Silencers must be intact while the vehicle is running.

2.

Wheels: 1. The vehicle may have any number of wheels organized in any orientation as long as it fits the overall dimension box. It is advised the vehicles should wheels size minimum 3inch diameter for easy running over slopes and rough terrain features. Mecanum wheels are allowed. Use of rails is not allowed.

2.

3. 4.

Participants are advised to use robust suspensions with large travel and ensure adequate groundclearance owing to the off-road nature of some of the races.

If the cars collide they will be taken back to the previous checkpoint..
