These are some of my thoughts regarding your CI 2011.

Young people are eager to find their own expressions in life. I remember during my youth days a certain t-shirt commercial which has its tag line, express yourself, and it caters the desire of the youth to find their own identity in expressing themselves. Individual expressions are part of a pursuit of knowing oneself. Every young people undergo this stage in their life. Some youth are still indecisive in their course in college and some are wondering what their lives will be after college. These factors plus some other youth issues affect the individuality of the youth. I went through these stages with tremendous struggles but I was able to survive it with a single thought in my mind, that, I am a child of God. I believe, this should be a foundation of the youths pursuit of their identity, that, they are children of God This further affirms our belief that God loves us and God has a wonderful plan in our lives. This is the concept of your first strategy Know how God is being intimate to us We need to re affirm Gods love as our parent; the nurturing, caring and loving parent that we all need. The second strategy is a follow up of the relationship-building of the 1st strategy. A person who enters into a relationship with God must be nurtured within that framework. Our identity as children of God must reflect the image of God. These Christian disciplines are fundamental in our Christian life as these must be given emphasis. Self expression must be rooted on our Christian beliefs to avoid the wiles of false doctrines. The 3rd strategy deals with discovering self expressions. And during our talks, these expressions are geared towards the ministries of the youth. 1 Corinthian 12, deals with such issues of individual gift and services. The beauty of diversity within a unified body is expressed in these passages. I also suggested to change the concept of Erasing our standards in expressions. We should not erase our standards, we can only modify, enhance or go beyond these standards. Standards are a fact of life especially in our Christian faith but we are also challenged to go beyond it and explore new possibilities. An important part of discovery is presenting various ministries or expressions. We need to provide the young people with diverse ways of serving God and the people. This will be an ongoing program after CI. We need to enhance and nurture these young people who have somehow discovered their gifts and further assist those who are still exploring.
