RedTacton takes a dif ferent technical approach. Instead of relying on electromagnetic waves or light waves to carry data, RedTacton uses weak electric fields on the surface of the b ody as a transmission medium. The name chosen for this technology is derived fro m tacton meaning action triggered by touching combined with red, which in Japanese c ulture is an auspicious color with connotations of warmth and love, to convey th e cordiality and warmth of interpersonal communications.
