Explain the functions of the kidney and bladder; emphasize how they are different. Give these examples: kidney = water filter, bladder = tank; uretus = pipe. Distribute handouts of urinary system to class and get them to label the organs. (Evaluation of Learning Outcome 1) Ask the class the difference between the kidney and bladder in terms of their function in the urinary system. (Evaluation of Learning Outcome 2) Next, show students how excretion is formed in the urinary system. Show a video clip of the process. Explain the formation of urine in the kidney and link it to the role of the bladder. Use Chart 5d for this purpose. Evaluation of Learning Outcome 3 a. Break class into 2 groups. Assign task of explaining how urine is formed using Chart 5d. b. Get representative from each group to present their explanation. Inculcate the value of being responsible to oneself: by eating well, eating a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Get 5 students (at random) to restate the 5 primary organs and their functions. Reemphasize the value of living a healthy lifestyle Evaluation of Learning Outcome 1 a. Distribute handouts of urinary system to class and get them to label the organs Evaluation of Learning Outcome 2 a. Ask the class the difference between the kidney and bladders in terms of their function in the urinary system. Evaluation of Learning Outcome 3 a. Break class into 2 groups. Follow-up Work Lesson Evaluation/ Reflection

Students are to read page 16-19 of the textbook regarding kidney failure and draw a connection between the information contained therein and the days topic. Write what you feel about how the lesson went. For example, Evaluation 3 did not go down very well. The questions were too difficult for students.
