A SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH I

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to: a. b. c. d. Discuss the different elements of a drama. Judge the actions of the characters in the drama entitled, The World is an Apple. Give insights and opinions about the title of the play. Relate how drama mirrors real life.

II. Subject Matter a. Topic: The World is an Apple by Alberto Florentino b. Reference III. Procedure To Explore: Whats the Connection? (Visual, Linguistic, Interpersonal) Group the class into seven. Have the learners draw an apple and the world. Let the learners decide on the proximity of items to one another. Tell them to enrich their illustrations with colours. Have the learners write at least three possible reasons for the connection between apple and the world. Tell the group representatives to share their answers in class. Process the learners answers.

To Deepen: Characters Sentiments (Linguistic, Interpersonal) Instruct the learners to work in pairs. Remind learners that they will write how the characters feel towards the other characters. Allot seven minutes for students to work on the activity. Learners share their answers in class. Process students answers.

To Transfer: One More Chance! (Visual, Linguistic, Interpersonal) Group the class into seven. Let the learners create their own version of the ending of the story. If given the chance what do they think Mario should do instead of going back to his life before he married Gloria. Tell the group representatives to share their answers in class. Process the learners answers.
