Local avails/commercial insertion

Hallmark Local Avail with 8 sec pre-roll Audio 2 is DTMF Tones on the Left (L) channel and no audio on the Right (R) channel for the MPEG services. Digital Program Insertion (DPI) PID values form each service is shown in Table 2. Hallmark SD Channel Assignments of this document. The Scientific Atlanta Model D9850 Program Receiver has the ability to generate three types of commercial insertion interfaces for use by the cable headend. Option 1 - Cue Triggers: Using the EXPANSION PORT on the rear of the receiver, the user can access any one of 8 cue trigger outputs. For cue trigger purposes on Hallmark, only remote control outputs #1 and #2 will be authorized and active. Output #1 will act as the ON trigger and #2 will act as the OFF triggerGeorge0525195. Please refer to the PowerVu Model D9850 Program Receiver Program Receiver Installation and Operation Guide, Rear Panel Connections - for pin-out and configuration. Option 2 - DTMF Tones on Audio #2 Left Channel. Audio #2 Left Channel is used for DTMF tones. Its purpose is for the cueing insertion of localized commercial material. The number sequence for Hallmark is 925* for a Start. Option 3 Digital Program Insertion (DPI): The Hallmark feed is DPI enabled (See Table 2 in this document for DPI PID numbers). This will allow the headend to digitally splice local commercial spots into the MPEG transport stream from the ASI Output on the rear of the receiver, thereby never having to decode to baseband. Please refer to the PowerVu Model D9850 Program Receiver Program Receiver Installation and Operation Guide for ASI configuration.
