Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Grant


2007-2008: Awarded a one year grant to enhance language and cross-cultural opportunities at the Hong Kong Institute of Education and Mainland China.

President of the Japanese Student Association at San Francisco State University


2006-2007: During my 1 year term, built a network between Japanese Student Associations in Northern California which lead to participation in the 2007 Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco and formed collaborations with the Taiwanese Student Association and the International Education Exchange Council which lead to participation in International Education week.

1st Cohort of students selected to attend University of Seoul International Summer School
2006: University representative responsible for building relationships between San Francisco State University and the University of Seoul.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
HONG KONG INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION, Hong Kong, China July 2008 August 2010 Graduate English Tutor Responsible for supporting English enhancement programs at the Arthur Samy Language Learning Center. Coordinate campus wide events designed to help internationalize HKIED campus. Develop programs for elementary Japanese language and culture instruction.
Highlighted Achievements

Helped coordinate over 50 events dealing with language and cross-cultural exchange. Implemented the first ever Taipo Scavenger Hunt and the HKIED Prison Break in which students needed to combine language skills and physical fitness to successfully participate. Helped set-up World Nomads events which empower students by giving them opportunities to organize events themselves and share their overseas experiences with students at HKIED.

Responsible for Developing Multiple Intelligence Activities for Jockey Club Primary School. Responsible for supporting language enhancement programs for the Center in Language Education
Highlighted Achievements

Implemented a talent showcase in Guangzhou Province Implemented language activities during English Corner in Anhui Province Hosted an International Carnival to fundraise money for the Hong Kong Institute of Education
