Abstract
This circuitry system is used for controlling a home appliance circuit by bluetooth module and symbian OS mobile. In this device we mainly use a mobile phone having symbian OS facility such like N serirs Nokia mobiles. This mobile phone that we using as remote to controlling the circuitry system. We use a blue tooth module as receiver. In this circuit diagram it is show that amicrocontroller is embedded with the blue tooth module, and this is pre-programmed for controlling the circuitry. And there is also a Relay driver IC for passing the output of themicrocontroller to the relay circuit.

Statement of Problem
People are being more and more sophisticated and so does development in various technologies is going on globally. Any task that can be performed; people wants to perform it in more easy way. In this scenario we came to conclude why not to replace old and time consuming system by replacing it with Bluetooth technology. So we think why not to use wireless approach for smart home, inorder to operate various home appliances such as fan, light e.t.c.

Third Year Project Proposal, Spring , 2011

Objective
Taking smart home in heart of our project so that we can easily approach to any appliances such as TV, fan rice cooker e.t.c just by sitting in a place. Also it will be advantage for disabled people.

Third Year Project Proposal, Spring , 2011

Justification
In this scenario we came to conclude why not to replace old and time consuming system by replacing it with Bluetooth technology.

Third Year Project Proposal, Spring , 2011

Motivation
As we see the technology has reduced electronic devices in size and empowered them more and more day by day as a result Bluetooth technology is growing more popular in the world .This project is thought as the result of our desire to control the different electronic devices from remote using the Bluetooth device (as an example mobile containing symbian os) which is available and handy device which just not only can be used to communicate but also can be used to control other different electronic devices such as desktop PC ,home appliances like TV, micro oven, refrigerator ,rice cooker etc.

Introduction:
The advancement of technology and the evolution of the information home appliances, such as TVs, air conditioners, sound and stereo systems, wireless phones, and so forth, the remote controllers dazzling our eyes still have not reached a unified model or style. In view of this fact, we propose an environment controller combining the Bluetooth technology. Along with Bluetooth transmission via radio wave, we can break through those space barriers existing in our housing structure comprising multiple separating objects. The system design is as follows: microcontroller and Bluetooth module. Bluetooth is low cost, low power short-range radio technology originally developed as a cable replacement to connect devices such as mobile phone handsets, headsets and portable computers. No longer do people need to connect, plug into, install, enable or configure anything to anything else.

The basic block diagram mainly consisting a transmitter stage & receiver stage. Bluetooth device (for e.g. Mobile phone) will acts as transmitter & microcontroller will acts as receiver. The Data transmission between transmitter & receiver is taking through the Bluetooth module. The status from the relay is transmitted to mobile through Bluetooth module and process of controlling is taking place in mobile phone which is our controller.

Communication through Bluetooth module is the basic principle used in this circuit. Here Bluetooth module and Bluetooth device (mobile phone) will act as a transmitter and receiver. Mobile phone will give instruction to microcontroller through Bluetooth module. For controlling the relay circuit and it will receive information from microcontroller through Bluetooth module about the status of the relay. The Bluetooth module will receive data from both mobile phone & microcontroller. The Blue SMIRF V.2.11 Bluetooth module is used here. Mobile phone (Bluetooth device) operation will control by the python software which is installed in 12

the mobile phone. The relay is controlled by the programmed AT 89c2051microcontroller. ULN2803 is the IC we are using to drive the relay. Bluetooth module cannot receive information parallelly. So the parallel information must convert to serial data. So a SIP is used which convert the parallel data from relay driver to serial data. The instruction from mobile phone will receive by Bluetooth module and transfer in to microcontroller and the microcontroller will send this data to relay driver and will control the relay. The relay will send the status to micro controller and will convert data in to serial and transfer it to mobile phone through Bluetooth module.
