Target Audience Through current research my group and I have chosen to aim our film between the ages

of fifteen to twenty two and over, through this I felt that the connations of my film would be most suited to people in within this specific categorical zone. We have chosen to select this age range as it allows us when filming to associate the concept of codes and conventions which help emphasis the genre thriller. This is because we researched film classifications on the BBFC website and found that- in context to our action thriller genre that there may be frequent use of strong language but frequent use of the strong and most offensive language which is unlikely to be accepted, that violence may be strong but may not stay on the infliction of pain or injury After deciding on our target audience we created a questionnaire and gave it to people aged 15+ and we discovered what would interest them within a thriller and keep them engaged. In addition to this, by rating our thriller a 15 we would be able to add more twist to our engaging the audience further and keeping them interested also, if we chose to make the haunted a 12 or 12a we may not be able to do this as a younger audience may get confused or be offended by some of our material. My group and I have thought carefully and researched into what gender finds the thriller the most appealing and from our results it has been evident that males tend to watch and get more pleasure from watching these types of films. Also we have had to construct our ideas to portray this sense of making the film scary and as anticipating without crossing this board. This has allowed us to bring in the element of appealing to emotion which has been used constantly and significantly .This helps to engage the audience and appeal to their emotional needs and expectations. Generally when you expect to see a thriller which is targeted at fifteens and over you expect to see violence, bad language, disturbing scenes and to some extent flashing Images which is also in cooperated within thriller and horror films. The age fifteen and over has allowed us to use certain aspects of the thriller genre. Our thriller film is mainly aimed at the teens and over as in todays society it has been shown from research that many teens enjoy the thriller as it is very captivating and full of suspense and intriguing excitement which allows the audience to feel a part of the film. In contrast to this the audiences adrenaline tends to increase as this suspense and tension does, which therefore presents an idea as to why we have chosen this age range.

This will appeal to someone who may conspire mystery with a twist. Someone who likes to figure things out for themselves and never gives up without a fight and try and give it a shot on working on what it could be but yet still enjoys the element of surprise.
