The book I chose is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling and is a fantasy book. I chose that book because I have read the Harry Potter books before and I absolutely loved them, so I decided to read the series again. After this book, I plan to read the rest of the Harry Potter books. There are seven Harry Potter books and this book is the first book in the series. Another reason I chose this book is because I really like adventure books. The main characters in the story are Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Lord Voldemort, and Professor Albus Dumbledore. Some minor characters in the story are Professor McGonagall who is head mistress, Neville Longbottom Harrys friend, Oliver Wood captain of Quiditch, and the Dursleys Harrys mean family. Harry is an 11-year old boy who has a lightning shaped scar on his forehead from Voldemort, has brown messy hair, plays quiditch, and wears glasses. Hermione is a girl who has bushy brown hair, studies a lot, is Harrys friend, and always aces everything. Ron Weasley has red hair, freckles, is Harrys best friend, and has four other brothers. Lord Voldemort is an evil man who wants to take control of everything, has no nose, and is bald. Professor Dumbledore is the headmaster of Hogwarts, a kind-hearted man, and is a very powerful wizard. The main problem is that there is a Sorcerers Stone which a three-headed dog guards and many other powerful spells. The Sorcerers Stone is powerful stone which keeps you alive for the rest of your life. Voldemort wants it, but Harry, Ron, and Hermione think that Snape wants it. They realize that its Voldemort who wants the stone. Harry finds the stone and they destroy it. Harry got hurt badly when he fought Voldemort to get the stone. The story takes place at Hogwarts, a school of witch craft and wizardry. Hogwarts is a giant magical castle. There is a commons room for each house, Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. All of the staircases move, so you have to be careful where you walk. Hogwarts is in the wizarding world. There are so many rooms and staircases you could get lost! The story takes place from around 1980, when Harry was born to about 1991. For this book, my opinion is that Harry Potter is one of the best books I have ever read! I would read it again and again. This is a great book if you are into adventure. If you happen to like adventure, I highly recommend you should read this book and the other books in the series.
