'the quest of a lost soul'

alright. so the basic idea in this quest is to provide players something


interesting to read and explore.

the items:
- soul sword : 100% cold damage, requires 125 strength, 50% damage increase, broad
sword, use best weapon skill
- 'dragon breathe shield' , 70% fire resist, strength increase 80, lower
requirements 75%, heater shield
- the dragon, hued green, ancient dragon used as graphics, difficulty moderate,
100% fire damage.

i won't be writing up the whole dialogue, or text that is shown to the players
when they start and proceed within
the quest. this is just to save time and my mind.

1. the quest is not received by normal means. the player will find a note from a
random monster, probably depending
on the location where the monster is killed, or not. the note will have two
different versions, both with the same
story told, from different points of view. other one is described from the 'soul
swords' point of view, and the other
one from the wizard's, when he turn the person to a sword.

2. this is where player can either follow the instructions given in the note, or
just throw it away. the note will
be used as a tool to activate the quest itself, once the player reaches the
location where the soul sword is hidden.
it can be in a chest, in a dungeon or somewhere else, but no one else is able to
receive the sword, but the holder
of the note. i'd suggest the area would be non-pk zone aswell, due the quest zone
will probably be crowded.

3. once the note activates the soul sword, it'll start speaking to the person who
activated it. the sword will tell
his story (again) and asks the player to help him out. if the player accepts the
quest, the soul sword will tell him
that he needs to defeat a dragon, and by doing it he will release the person
inside the sword.

4. this is where the player might want to get the 'dragon breathe sword', but it's
not required. however,
since the sword can only be held by a player who has 125 strength, it's mostly
needed. the shield can be found
in a crypt crowded by minor level monsters, and it can be found from a tomb of a
fallen knight. the knight who
very first challenged the dragon that lies ahead.

5. once the player possesses the shield and the sword, they would proceed to the
dragon's lair. the sword is used
to revive the dragon from it's sleep, since it's there as a statue. no other
players would be allowed to help the
player to defeat the dragon, and that could be either blocked by moving player to
the real location of the dragon,
or by making somekind of a duel between the player and the dragon. duel to the
death it is, anyways.
6. once the player has defeated the dragon, the soul sword and the shield will
break and the npc inside the sword
will jump out and start talking to the player. he thanks the pc, and then gives
him a reward. virtue points could be
added aswell. the reward could be used to active another quest, which can't be
activated in any other means. this
would give the player a reason to keep questing, and having a great time.

problems:
due the ability to abandon quests never seems to remove the items the player
possesses. this should be fixed, since
no one wants to see a quy running around with these items. especially the shield.
also, the weaponry could be used in
pvp, if the pc doesn't quit the quest. so either there should be some way to
prevent player from wielding the items
or not being able to use them on other pcs when the quest is still active.

p.s : the storyline is in an important role in this quest, so it'll probably give
more edge to the quest itself.
