You are planning to open a new retail store in your city. What type of a store will you open? What are the steps you will follow before you open the store? While preparing your assignment the following needs to be answered.

1. What will be the location of your store and what factors have you taken into account while choosing such a location? Design your store layout. 2. Who will be your target market? Prepare a customer profile. 3. What range of merchandising would you keep and how will you merchandise your store? Prepare a Plano gram and design your POP materials. 4. What categories you would keep in your store? Prepare a category structure explaining the categories in your store.

5. What retail strategies would you adopt to market your store so that you can bring in customers and revenue? Prepare a promotion strategy which will help in bringing walk-in and increase the ticket value of your customers. 6. How will you plan your manpower and what training will you provide to the employees so that they can match the store standards? 7. How will you make your store a profitable store? 8. Who are your core store competitors, analyze them and list out the negative and positive aspects of your competitors? How would you make your store better than your competitors? 9. Design a CRM system to capture the customer data.

Note: Students need to choose their store by the end of 3rd session and start working on the assignment from the 6th session. As the sessions get completed the students can start moving on the assignments.
