Web Content Writer Director of Corporate Communications Corporate

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Web Content Writer will write and develop search engine optimized website content and press releases. They will be responsible developing the voice for all aspects of the organizations online presence. They will be writing, editing, proofreading site content, and will work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new and existing development. Web Content Writer will be responsible for crafting site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns. Qualifications: Education/Certification Must have a Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or a related field from an accredited College or University. Experience 2+ years of experience in web content writing and development. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Must have a passion for children, integrity, and energy. Advanced knowledge of search engine optimization. Advanced knowledge of content writing for the web. Advanced knowledge of web-based programming language (HTML, DHTML, Javascrpit, etc.). Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and similar products. Basic knowledge of keywords and meta tags. Must have 2+ years of experience with content management systems. Must have 2+ years of proven and effective writing style that is fresh, consistent and customer friendly. Must have 2+ years of strong research, proofreading, and editing experience. Must have 2+ years of experience with developing press releases, web-based marketing campaigns, and promotional materials. Must have 2+ years of experience managing web-based marketing and outreach campaigns. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize, plan, develop, and execute strong web-based content. Ability to write in a variety of formats and styles for multiple audiences. Ability to write web page titles, meta tag descriptions, alt tags for images etc. Ability to communicate with staff, parents, community leaders, and constituents. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and in a timely manner. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within a crossdepartmental team. Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver quality materials ahead or on time.

3-5 years of experience maintaining and supporting professional website content. 3-5 years of experience managing content and production for high traffic websites 3-5 years of experience maintaining and supporting web-based marketing campaigns. 3-5 years of experience maintaining and supporting promotional initiatives for educational institution.

Responsibilities and Duties: Create, develop and manage content for organizations web presence. Accountable for all the development of editorial content for all website and web-based marketing efforts. Create product and promotional copy for all website and online marketing efforts including repurposed content and original writing. Coordinate web projects across various departments and platforms. Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties and brands. Ensure editorial content is written and presented in a format that meets web usability standards and is consistent with company information design guidelines and brand image. Working with a cross-departmental team, maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web properties and brands. Collaborate with web team members to enhance website functionality and develop innovative ways to effectively meet customer needs. Actively participate and contribute to web team's creativity, efficiency and accomplishment of broad goals and policies identified by the strategic web team. Exhibit leadership and initiative in the maintenance of functional web team and individual projects as directed by team coordinator. Copyedit and proofread all web content for a consistent and impactful message. Oversee freelancers, including writers, copyeditors and community outreach organizers. Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, discussion boards, social media, and web-based technology events. Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference. Track and report on all site metrics and performance. Work cooperatively with key team members, company staff, parents, vendors, and constituents. Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned. Travel as necessary for events. Equipment Used: All equipment required to perform jobs duties and task previously described.
