Express XT VPS Impression Materials Outstanding balance of clinically relevant properties

The development of Express XT VPS Impression Materials was based on careful examination of the clinically relevant properties of impression materials in order to ensure reliable, precise results even in challenging clinical situations. Internal field evaluations confirm that Express XT materials perform where it counts. Their clinically relevant properties are extraordinarily well balanced. Compared to other leading VPS products, 3M ESPE Express XT materials show:

Superior hydrophilicity and flow properties Outstanding tensile strength to avoid tearing Nearly 100% recovery from elongation, minimizing the risk of distortion upon removal from the mouth Higher dimensional stability than alginates and c-silicones

Thanks to this winning combination of properties, Express XT VPS Impression Materials are an excellent basis for highly accurate impressions and well-fitting restorations a great benefit for dentists, dental technicians and patients.

Recovery after elongation

Express XT Optimum choice for VPS users due to superior hydrophilicity

In order to achieve a perfectly fitting restoration, an impression needs to accurately reflect the intra-oral situation. Of all the VPS impression materials tested internally, Express XT VPS wash materials proved to have the best hydrophilicity in the unset stage ensuring great detail reproduction even in moist environments.

Express XT VPS Materials High tensile strength and recovery from deformation in the set stage
Express XT VPS Impression Materials demonstrate their strengths and perform successfully in the set stage as well: compared to other leading VPS products, Express XT wash materials stand out for their high tensile strength and their ability to almost completely regain their original shape after elongation or compression. Those characteristics are crucial to avoid any permanent deformation of the impression during and after removal and reduce the risk that an impression will have to be redone.

Superior hydrophilicity Outstanding tensile strength Nearly 100 % recovery from elongation Excellent dimensional stability

Express XT VPS Materials Significant advantages over alginates and condensation silicones
Express XT VPS Impression Materials present decisive advantages over alginates and c-silicones:

Superior dimensional stability (compared to alginates and c-silicones) Moisture insensitivity (alginates dry quickly if not stored in a wet environment) High tensile strength (alginates have very low tensile strength, so impressions can only be poured once)

Express XT VPS Impression Materials Superior dimensional stability allows long-term storage
Compared to alginates and c-silicones, impressions made with Express XT VPS materials show virtually no change after 24 hours confirming their superior dimensional stability and long-term storage capability. Both other classes of materials shrink continuously after setting and therefore impressions must be poured immediately (alginates) or at least within a few hours (c-silicones).

After 24 hours, the alginate impression has shrunk, cracked and pulled away from the tray.
