UNIT VFX PLATE SUPERVISOR/ CG SUPERVISOR (SENIOR ANIMATION EFFECTS EDITOR)

RESPONSIBILITIES The 2 Unit Plate Supervisor/ CG Supervisor uses hands-on experience from previous projects to solve creative and technical problems. Duties Deliver final shots that are creatively and technically excellent Determines technical approaches needed to achieve desired look and behaviors of the production's assets within agreed on technical pipeline Identifies, defines, prioritizes and oversees the implementation of tools that automate production tasks Assist the team in debugging problematic shots and assist in optimizing shots for efficiency Builds consensus among technology, creative and production management to create efficiencies Act as the primary technical leadership on the project Serves as key technical expert on productions nd Supervision and Execution of VFX requirements on 2 unit including: o Collect lighting data on set (HDRI, lighting diagrams) o Shoot set reference photography o Shoot textures o Collect set measurement data (LiDAR, total station, Leica Disto tool, tape measure, etc) o Data entry (database web interface) & data management o Camera information (lens info, slate info, camera position & orientation, etc) Clearly communicate progress and issues

Reporting/ Relationships Other Other duties and responsibilities consistent with your position as may be assigned to you from time to time Be actively involved in mentoring juniors throughout productions Report to VFX Supervisor Consult 2nd unit director, dp & camera operator Work with the other departments and VFX Supervisor to determine the best strategy for executing the VFX shots. nd Maintain the working day to day relationship with the 2 Unit and VFX department

REQUIREMENTS 5 years VFX experience in production facility nd 3 years experience of VFX plate supervision on main unit or 2 unit A strong combined technical and creative background Extensive knowledge of computer animation packages - Maya, 3Delight and Nuke preferred but not required Experience with programming/scripting languages (such as python, C++, etc.) is a plus Strong organization and communication skills Thorough understanding of and compliance with set etiquette Is a proven leader in setting direction for a production and for inspiring and motivating production staff Must have a positive, team approach and be able to work well with a wide range of personality types
