Page 6 of 11
As an ABAPer, I was responsible for developing many solutions

Solutions developed:
1. Shift Sequence Load Program:
It was a BDC program using ‘CALL TRANSATION METHOD’ & ‘SESSION METHOD’ to
load Shift Sequences at various Work Centers of a Plant. Manually one can load only one
Shift Pattern at one Work Center of a plant. This program enables the user to load any
number of weekly Shift Patterns at any number of Work Centers of a plant.

2. FPAS interface:
The client has a centralized Freight Payment System (FPAS) for its Puerto Rico plant. It is
a legacy system, which requires a flat file containing information about all the shipments.
To send this information to FPAS, a flat file with 5 different structures is created. The file
would be sent to FPAS via Batch Net.

3. Reservation Print Report:

It was a report with two SAPSCRIPT layout sets one each for A4 and letter size paper.
The program finds out the correct Layout and Printer Location depending upon the Plant
& Storage Location.

4. OHB Interface:
The client has a centralised database (MAUI) that holds the inventory balance of finished
product. That database needs to be updated with the on hand balance of various
materials. This requires a flat file with a specified format, containing the on hand balance
of various materials. A flat file with 3 structures is created to pass on this information to
MAUI. This file would be sent to MAUI via Batch Net.

5. Product Line Summary Report:

It was a detailed report that summarizes key production data in one report. The key
figures can basically be divided as follows:
 Plan vs. Actual data (Monthly target, Month to Date (MTD) target, MTD production
etc, QTY to build, MTD build delta, % of target, % of MTD target) per product
 Hours: Planned total available capacity and MTD available capacity, actual available
capacity, as well as the plan vs actual delta and the % of plan;
 Rate: planned rate, actual rate, utilization and efficiency;
 Queue information data: The quantities of material that have been produced in the
work center and that are waiting in storage locations that are not warehouse
managed (mostly used to see how many unpacked pens are ready to be packed);
 Yield data: yield per line over the yield component
 Drill down available on every material to show planned and actual hours, planned and
actual build, scraps and yield per day or per shift.

If the report is run normally, then all above details are shown on the screen whereas
if the report is run in the background (as a batch job with some variant), then the
whole report output is converted as a HTML file and downloaded at the specified
location to be shown on the web.

6. User exits:
An enhancement to SAP Planning Table was required wherein the actual Coverage could
be made available to optimize the daily inventory. The SAP user-exit M61X0002 provides
the possibility to add an additional column to MRP list & Stock Requirement List. I added
the functionality to the two components of the User exit.

7. ALE Customization & Configuration:

Customized and configured ALE for loading the master data (e.g. material master, vendor
master) from one R/3 System to another R/3 System and developed interfaces for master
data loads using IDOCs creation and processing.

Title Billing

Role: System Analyst

Software was developed for billing. It issues many kinds of bills to our client. The job is multi
colour offset printing, software development, designing the buildings and houses. After
issuing the bills to our client there is a provision to receive the amount against the issued bill
and, afterwards, if the payment is short, then software can calculate the dues not only
individuals but also calculate the monthly dues and get a printout of that list. In this billing
software, there is a standard taxes provision that has to be charged with a fixed percentage
on billing amount. Editing and monthly reports viewing is password protected.
