Procedure of Campus Recruitment Programme ( CRP)

The campus recruitment process facilitates interaction of Company Officials with the students of the College on Career offerings. The Procedure to be followed by the Visiting Organizations is detailed below: 1) The Company needs to send a request for Registering the Company for CRP through an email giving the details on Company Profile, description of Career Offers, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process details, Service agreements and most importantly the Pay Package details (Kindly avoid standard statements like "We offer best pay package, etc.", Please be specific as We group companies based on the Pay Packages). Kindly note that all Premier Organizations offer Pay Packages to our students on par with those offered to Students of NITs / Other Premier Institutes in the Country. 2) Placement Office after scrutiny of the request will send a Company Registration Form (CRF) to the Company within 4 days time. 3) After Receipt of the filled in Company Registration Form in all respects from the

Company, it is subjected to a final Scrutiny. 4) The availability of dates for the Company's Visit will be communicated by the Placement Officer. 5) After Receipt of Confirmation on a date from the Company, the same date is reserved in the Placement Office Calendar. 6) Eight days before the CRP date, a "Notification of CRP" is issued to the students seeking applications from them. Two days prior to CRP, a final list of Applicants is prepared and sent to the Company. 7) On the day of CRP, Process starts with PrePlacement talk by the Company Officials generally at 10 AM followed by the Selection process. All the facilities for conduction of Written or Online tests, Group discussions and interviews would be provided on the campus. 8) The organizations are requested to finalize the selection of students while on campus. The Visiting Company is required to give the list of final offers to the Placement Officer in a written form on their Company Letter Head preferably. The Announcement of the Results is to done by the Placement Officer only in

the presence of the Company Officials. 9) The offer letters are to be sent to the Placement Office only for further handing over to the Students within a fortnight of the CRP day without fail. Otherwise, the Students selected by the Company may not be blocked for the Company and they will be allowed to appear for other Company's CRPs. 10) The Selected students will be ready to join

organizations any time after the month of May of the Passing Year except under special circumstances. The recruiting company needs to inform to the Placement Officer about the Joining dates of selected students before end of March of the Passing Year. 11) The students of the College have the

"Dream Job Option" under which they are allowed to appear for CRP of a Company of their choice even if they have a offer on their hand. Companies are advised make a note of it. The Placement office only provides an access to Companies to recruit the students. But is not responsible for the student recruits joining or leaving the Company. 12) The Placement Office discourages

Companies from demanding the college recruits to deposit original certificates with

the Company. 13) The Placement Office requests the Companies to give the information about the number of students joining them every year from our College. 14) The Placement Office also seeks feedback from the Companies on the performance of the college alumni which serves as the best input to fine tune the curriculum and its delivery process.

Campus placement or campus interview is the program conducted within educational institutes or in a common place to provide jobs to students pursuing or in the stage of completing the programme. In this programme, industries visit the

colleges to select qualified students.

Types of campus placement


There are two types of campus placement. They are on-campus and off-campus

On-campus placement
This is the placement program organized only for the students within the educational institute. In most cases student in the final year of a program will participate in this placement program

Off campus placement


This job placement program is for students from other institutions. This program will be conducted in a common place (it may be in a college or in some public place) where students from different colleges will take part.

Project Placement
Companies recruit students to do their academic project in the industrial environment.

Student Internship Placement


Companies recruit the students as interns. Internship will be during their student period.

Objective
The major objective of campus placement is to identify the talented and qualified professionals before they complete their education. This process

reduces the time for an industry to pick the candidates according to their need.

Procedure
Pre-Placement Talk A presentation about the company will be made during the pre-placement talk. Basically the presentation includes the information like selection procedure, companys milestones, organizational achievements, candidate scope of improvement within the organization if selected, salary, employment benefits. Usually this presentation will end up with question and answer session, students given chance to ask questions about company. Educational qualification Companies who interested in campus visit for recruitment purpose will have specific qualification criteria. Qualification criteria include marks or grade range, specific programme. Written Test Qualified students will undergo a test. This is usually a simple aptitude test but depending on company and the position looking for, the difficulty level of the test may be at the higher side. Group discussion Most of the companies will have this round as a filtering round. This round may or may not be conducted. A common topic is placed before the group and a

formal discussion or knowledge sharing is expected by the judge. Purpose of this round is to check communication skills, etiquette of person, listening ability, convincing power, group leadership, leader or follower and many more thing are evaluated on the basis of requirement or the particular intention of organization or company. Technical Interview Based on outcome of above said process, students will further undergo a round called technical round. This round evaluates the technical ability of the student. In most of the cases this will be an individual round but it may be grouped with the formal interview. Formal interview Final round of the selection process, where the students stability and his confidence level towards the particular work will be evaluated. Post-Placement Talk Once the student is selected, he will be given an offer letter. Companys executive may provide guidelines about joining procedure and other prerequisites if needed.

Sample interview questions


A good interview with thought-provoking and reflective interview questions allow both the interviewer and the candidate to get the information they need to make a good employment decision. How effectively do you balance your course load at school with any jobs or extracurricular activities? Describe the most challenging situation you've had to deal with and the ways you dealt with it. Describe a situation where you have thought of a new or creative way of dealing with a problem. Describe a time when you encountered an especially difficult project. What did you do and what was the result? What do you consider to be your greatest personal or school related accomplishment and what steps did you take to achieve it? Describe your most successful effort in promoting teamwork within a group and how they responded. What would someone you've worked for describe as your strengths? What about areas that need improvement?

Describe a situation when your work or one of your ideas was criticized. How did you respond? Describe a situation in which you've shown a great deal of initiative. Describe a goal that you have set for yourself in the last year.
