Training Benefits
Leadership Basics: A Pathway to Effective Leadership Skills will introduce you to the basics of effective leadership while allowing you to define and refine your personal leadership style through interactive group exercises and personal exploration and application. A title does not make a leader. Leadership comes from personal awareness of actions, influence, and inspiration. This training will explore key leaders, business concepts, and various business scenarios to help each participant to develop their personal leadership brand to increase effectiveness in leading others to meet strategic objectives. A balanced approach from Blanchard, Covey, the FISH philosophy and other business leaders will be examined and applied to strengthen basic leadership skills.

This training is recommended for those who aspire to a leadership position to those new to leading or the seasoned leader wanting to refuel their momentum.

The secret to effective leadership is not in just telling people what to do, but inspiring them to achieve it through your example. Training

This training course continues over 3 months to allow you to learn, apply, and evaluate a synchronous, online meeting with the instructor and other participants weekly to prov of leadership lessons learned. Along with the weekly online training sessions, resource terial when it bet fits your work and life schedule.

Training Participation Expectations


Expectations of the Facilitator

Provide weekly synchronous training session on leadership topics that include discussion and activities Provide a choice of activities to meet the needs of the participant within each module Provide a variety of formats to build leadership skills Provide feedback to questions and concerns within 48 hours Provide times for participants to have one-one-one time with facilitator

Expectations of the Participant


Complete all required activities and resources Opt to complete at least one optional activity or view one optional resource weekly, if time permits Complete optional activities or resources if needed to master the key objectives within a module Obtain a weekly signature from supervisor to show discussion on leadership skills presented and application in action plan to support transfer of learning in the workplace Contact training facilitator with any questions or concerns

Expectations of the Participants Supervisor


Meet weekly with the training participant to support and encourage transfer of skills to the workplace Contact training facilitator with any questions and concerns Suggest leadership scenarios for training discussion that you wish to be covered

Course Layout
The course contains 6 modules. Each module is covered over 2 weeks. See layout below.
MON. Synchronous Meeting Attend the Synchronous Training Session on Monday Complete Lesson 1 and 2 Begin trying out leadership actions (Part of lesson 4) Submit Case Study Scenario by Sunday You may work ahead on lessons Supervisor signature (optional)- Weekly conversation encouraged but signature not needed Synchronous Meeting Attend the Synchronous Training Session on Monday Complete Lesson 3and 4 Complete all assessment activities by Sunday Supervisor Signature indicating discussion of training (this may be submitted by Friday of week following to accommodate time to complete reflection and scheduling) All assessments for the week completed TUES. WED. THURS. FRI. SAT. SUN. Submit Case Study by noon today
