Statement reinforcing the formation and registration of the Agriculture and Farmer Federation of Myanmar and the statement of Federation of Trade Unions Burma that welcomed that formation and registration
We have received and acknowledge the information of the formation of the Agriculture and Farmers Federation of Myanmar (AFFM) and the statement of the Federation of Trade Unions Burma (FTUB) that strongly supports the formation and registration of AFFM. With regard to this formation and registration, 1. Federation of Trade Union of Kawthoolei hereby also reinforced its statement on the formation and registration of Agriculture and Farmers Federation of Myanmar (AFFM) and the statement of Federation of Trade Unions Burma (FTUB). 2. The Federation of Trade Union of Kawthoolei (FTUK) also cautiously welcomes and supports the current positive, but ambiguous political changes and the project of U Thein Sein Government to stop poverty and indigent of the rural areas in Burma (Myanmar). 3. In such an effort to alleviate and stop indigent and poverty in Burma, U Thein Sein Government, as an urgent and continuous effort, should also promote the education, health and security of children in the rural areas and in the ethnic states. 4. In the same way, free travel and free movement of the people in the rural areas and ethnic states are necessary to assure the good livelihood of the people there. For this, the government should have exact plans to investigate lawlessness and extrajudicial killing and punish the perpetrators as necessary. 5. In formulating the land law, the government must also respect the land and the land rights of the local people. 6. For the abundance of the commodities of the State and for the purpose of preventing the rise of the price of the basic commodities and for the welfare of the farmers, the government with its ministry concerned must also have loan without any interest, for the farmers. 7. As for the Federation of Trade Union of Kawthoolei (FTUK), it will, with all its best, coordinate and co-operate with all the Worker Unions of Burma and all the International Workers Unions for the basic rights of the people of the Union of Burma such as land rights, food and shelters and for the uplift of all aspects livelihood, and for the education and health and for the future security of their children.
