SOUTH KITSAP FIRE AND RESCUE RESOLUTION 2011-04

RESOLUTION FOR PROPERTY TAX REVENUES IN 2012

WHEREAS, under RCW 84.55.120, taxing districts must hold a public hearing regarding their revenue sources for the succeeding years current expense budget; and WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners (Commission) of South Kitsap Fire and Rescue (District), after providing proper public notice, met in open public meeting and conducted a hearing to consider its budget for the calendar year 2012; and WHEREAS, the districts actual levy amount from the previous year was $8,321,009; and WHEREAS, the population of this District is more than 10,000; and now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission of the District that an increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the levy to be collected in the 2012 tax year. The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year shall be $432,782, which is a percentage increase of 5.2% from the previous year. The District hereby requests, authorizes and directs that the amount of $8,753,791 be levied regarding its regular property tax levy in 2012. The District requests additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, any increases in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have occurred and refunds made. The total amount to be levied, including this additional revenue, shall equal but not exceed $8,845,542; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Commission of the District that due to statutory rate limitations, there will be no increase in the Emergency Medical Services property tax levy to be collected in the 2012 tax year. The Districts actual levy amount for Emergency Medical Services for 2011 was $3,382,958. The estimated dollar amount allowed to levy is $3,214,526; and will be subject to change due to levy rate limitations resulting from decreases in assessed valuation; and

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED the District hereby reserves all future levy capabilities of every kind and nature. This resolution was unanimously approved and adopted at a regular District Commission meeting on ___________________, 2011.
