JOLLIBEE

1. Comment on Jollibee’s mission and vision statements.

Defining the company’s mission and vision is the first step of the first function of
management which is planning.

Mission refers to where the company is going now, basically describing the
purpose why this company exists. It can be defined in terms of the company’s
products/services or markets/customers. The mission of Jollibee is to bring great taste
and happiness to everyone. Its mission is realistic in a way that it is attainable, it also
considers the feelings of the customers rather than just earning large profits wherein it
also benefited their customers, it is also based on coy distinctive competencies or it is
based on where the company s good at, which is serving the best fast food.

Vision refers to where the company wants to be in the future. It reflects the
optimistic view of the company’s future. Jollibee has six which are clear; they paint a
vivid and clear picture, not ambiguous. They describe the company’s bright future and
they are achievable and realistic. The visions are in aligning with the company’s values
wherein they support each other.

All in all, the Jollibee’s mission and vision are SMART (specific, measurable,
attainable, relevant and time bound).

2. Compare them to mission/vision statements of other companies.

Each company has their own missions and visions. Some of them have the same
but there are also some differences. In every line of business, there are hundreds of
different missions and visions. Just think about how many kinds of business there is in
this world. Maybe you’ll get tired of counting them.

Jollibee’s mission and visions might be the same as McDonalds’ vision and
mission but is surely different from Mercury Drug’s vision and mission. Jollibee and
McDonalds have the same line in the business world so in some ways they are both
having the same goal which is to deliver the most delicious and affordable food there is.
While Jollibee and Mercury Drug have different vision and mission because a drug store
is far more different from a fast food chain. A drug store’s goal is to serve the most
effective medicine to their customers which don’t have any connection in serving your
customers with delicious food.

Yes, there are lots of different business and lots of missions and visions. Even
though they are different in every angle you look at it, there will always be something
common between them. That is to serve their customers the best they can.
