Our subject has two mother languages since his parent are from different countries. Kiswalili is the general language of his country. But there are some other languages from different states also. Since his parents are from different nations he speaks both of their language, which is Suba and Luganda. In our culture, we have various dialects to be used according to the areas we come from, is there such a thing in your culture too? If there is can you name some that you know? Apparently they have dialects in the continent of Africa also; however they have lingua franca to unite the entire country. Their dialects are differentiated based on their home town, for example people who speak Kikuyu are from the highlands, Luo are from the lakeside and Swahili are from the coast Eye contact In your culture, can a guy and girl have a straight eye contact? Gender doesnt really affect anything in eye contact communication. Tolerance of direct eye contact is affected more by the age and seniority between individuals. For example, classmates and friends can have a straight eye contact. In rural area such as a village, direct eye contact with the someone older is consider disrespectful and these matter maybe taken a bit more serious compared to those in urban area. Normally eye contacts are used during a conversation. Its meaning varies as the people they have eye contact with changes, generally eye contact means that they have interest in the person they are talking to.
