Structure and Function of Blood

A. Blood plasma

Blood plasma is a yellowish-colored liquid blood-yellow, which contains 91% water, juice - juice of food, salt - mineral salt, the remnants of metabolism, and blood proteins : albumin, globulin, and fibrinogen. Function to regulate blood plasma osmoticpre ssure of blood, carrying substances - nutrients throughout the body, and carry the rest of the metabolism of body tissues. In blood plasma there are antibodies, antibody based on the kind of working his way: 1. antibodies that agglutinate antigens -> presipitin 2. antibody-antigen outlining> lysine 3. antibody-toxin offers> antitoxin B. Blood cells Cells - blood cells consist of three parts, namely: 1. Red blood cells (erythrocytes):

Erythrocytes is a major part of blood. The numbers in adult menabout 5 million / cc and the adult female about 4.5 million / cc.Shape bikonkaf, as well as red due to hemoglobin (containingprotein, iron, and globin). Oxygen bound to hemoglobin when blood passes through the lungs - pulmonary and erythrocyte bergeraakinto body tissues and release oxygen which then diffuses into the cell body. 2. White blood cells (leukocytes) Leukocytes form is not fixed, has a core, can move in ameboid, can penetrate the blood vessel wall or be diapeidesis andleukocytes are phagocytes (eating foreign body or germ that enters the body). Each contains about 1mm3 - about 60009000 whiteblood cells. Leokosit consists of two types namely: a. Granulocytes: the white blood cells that have granular cytoplasmwith - specific items and generally relatively large core. Composed of neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils. Neutrophils are useful forkeeping the entry of bacteria. Much as 65% -75% of the totalleukocytes. Eosinophils account for about 1% - 3% of leukocytes. Will increase the number of eosinophils in the event of an allergic reaction and infection by cacaing, for example by a wormTrichinella. Basophils in number at least compared to other whiteblood cells (0.5%). Basophils contain heparin which diffuses into the

blood to prevent clotting blood. b. Agranulosit: a white blood cell cytoplasm is not bergranula.Consisting of two, namely: Monocytes: a leukocyte with the largest size, can be enlargedmonocytes into macrophages (large cells that are memekan).Monocytes is essential to defend the body against infections that are chronic, such as tuberculosis and typhoid. Lymphocytes are divided into two, namely B lymphocytes remained in the sum sum to move the spine. Lymphocyte T moves toward the thymus gland 3. Blood platelets (thrombocytes)

Shaped platelets disorderly and not cored. In the normal adan1mm3 number approxi mately 200 rb - 300rb platelet grains.Platelets play a role as the freezing process blood.
