Ad Mania: Spark the Rise

Event Details
Ad-Mania is a unique online event wherein the participants have to develop a television commercial/viral video to help promote Spark the Rise.

What is Spark the Rise?


Spark the Rise is a platform initiated by Mahindra whose core purpose is to drive positive change in the lives of stakeholders and communities across the worldto enable them to Rise. Spark the Rise enables lots of people to drive positive change by bringing them together behind innovative ideas and awarding the grant money needed to put their ideas and projects into action. What is Rise?
Mahindras brand Idea or platform is RISE - which reflects a desire to empower people, to help them achieve their ambitions and RISE in life. In the context of Spark the Rise, this means empowering people to feel that through their work, they are able to achieve their goals and in the process help themselves and others to RISE. In short, RISE is the core philosophy while Spark the Rise is its manifestation.

What should the ad achieve?
We would like the ads to enthuse people to want to find out more about Spark the Rise and visit the website (www.sparktherise.com). You can achieve this objective by focusing on the following things in your ideas: Message: Stay true to the Rise idea by keeping the principle of empowerment central to your idea. Imagery should be real, authentic and contemporary India or Indians. Try and use imagery linked to the Spark the Rise categories. (find out about the Spark the Rise categories on the website) Brand: The brand is Mahindra. Use the Mahindra Rise logo lock-up. Tone & Style: This should be confident and optimistic, while challenging people to move out of their comfort zones and do something to RISE and help others RISE.

What is the target audience for the ad?


18-45 yrs, Male/Female, SEC A/B, English speaking, Internet savvy, urban Indians. The target audience is passionate about doing something either, directly, or indirectly by supporting others to help people RISE. They could be young people, fresh out of college, passionate about any of the Spark the Rise categories and have the fire-in-the belly to do something on their own (entrepreneurial) or they are reasonably well-to-do individuals in their early/late 40s who have had enough of their corporate life and want to do something to give back to society or they are people associated with ventures/projects who want to use the work they do in the 5 categories to drive positive change and help people RISE. The one thing common to all the different types of people mentioned above they are passionate about innovation and strongly believe that the same thinking that created the problems in the first place cannot be used to solve the problems.

Rules
The competition is open to all B-School students across India. The team size is restricted to a maximum of 3 members. All members have to be from the same college. Produce a 30-60sec long video, using your own imagination. The language of the video must be English/Hindi. Upload the video on www.youtube.com and forward us the link to the video on ensemble.admania@gmail.com. OR Design a full-page print ad in English/Hindi, using your own imagination. Email us the print ad on ensemble.admania@gmail.com In addition to the video/print-ad, include a copy of the script and story-board that you have tried to showcase in your video/print-ad. The better you explain your idea, the easier it is to understand and judge. While sending your entry, please ensure that college name and names of team members are mentioned in the mail. The subject Line of the mail/File Name of the entry : <Competition Name>_<College name>_<Team Name> The first round of evaluation will be done by our panel of judges who will shortlist the top 10 video and top 10 print-ad entries. Marks will be awarded to each of the shortlisted entries. Only these top 20 entries will be uploaded on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/XlriEnsemble2011 The overall score will be calculated based on: Facebook likes: 50% weightage Marks obtained in first round: 50% weightage (Please note that only likes coming from profiles with more than 50 friends will be considered authentic)

A team can send only one entry. Any additional entry shall be considered invalid. The video or print ad should be original. The organiser cannot be held responsible for copyright violation, malpractice, misrepresentation made by any of the entrants to the contest. By participating in the competition, teams agree to allow the organiser to use their photographs, in print or electronic form, for non-commercial purpose. But the credit will be with the teams only. Non adherence to the subject format may lead to a disqualification of your entry. Provocative, obscene or otherwise questionable entries are strictly prohibited and will be disqualified. The organisers' decision shall be final and binding. They maintain the right to disqualify any entry for violating any of the above rules. Note: All advertisements must prominently feature the Mahindra Rise logo. (please Google Mahindra Rise logo and download a high-resolution picture) Note: The organizers and Mahindra will not be responsible for any copyright infringements in the development of the advertisements.

Deadlines
All entries have to be sent in by 11:59 pm on November 3, 2011 Cut off date for gathering Facebook likes for Round 2 is November 10, 2011

Prize Money
Cash prizes will be awarded separately for winners of video and print ads. The cash prizes are: Video ad: Rs.6,000/ Print ad: Rs.6,000/-
