Ayurveda, the oldest health science has eight branches. Rasayana (rejuvenation) is one of them. Rasayana therapy enriches rasa with nutrients to help one for attaining longevity, memory, intelligence, health, youthfulness, excellence of luster, complexion and voice, optimum development, for example Kamya Rasayanas is a promoter of normal health. It boosts body energy levels, immunity and general health & Naimittika Rasayana helps to fight a specific disease. A study shows that about 50% of global population suffers due to deficiencies of nutrients & micronutrients which seek to meet global demand of plant nutritional resources. In Ayurveda three categories of plants are as rejuvenators (rasayana), tonic (balya), nutrients (jeevni drvyas), which are rich sources of nutrients and micronutrients such as Leptademia reticulata (Jeevantee-root), Glycyrrhiza glabra (mulethi- roots), Letsia glutinosa (meda- bark), Lilium polyphyllum (sheerkakoli- roots). The window of the Ayurvedic concept is narrow in relating to the modern approaches. Molecular nutrition is related to understand, how food components interact with the genome and food controlled pathways which lead to or prevent from diet related disorders. Now days best simultaneous high throughput screening techniques are used in the Ayurvedic formulations to understand the genomic interaction profile of the formulation. Thus the goal of nutrigenomics research is to develop personalized diets as per Ayurveda. So molecular nutrition focuses on how the basic metabolites produced from nutrients and other food components influence physiological and health status by understanding the effects of these factors at the molecular and cellular level. Nutritional research works as a platform in prevention from chronic diseases as well as diagnosing the food components leading to particular chronic diseases.
