The U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez processes more immigrant visa applications than any other U.S. Foreign Service posts worldwide. Because of the Consulates caseload, it is sometimes necessary for applicants to spend the entire day of their interview at the Consulate. If you have a Consular Interview

appointment and if any minor 14 years old children are included in your petition bring them to the Consulate.
Visa applicants who plan on departing El Paso, Texas, by air are advised not to make flight reservations for the same day as the interview. Applicants are likely to experience lengthy delays both at the Consulate and the Immigration Office at the port of entry. It will help us to process cases expeditiously if each applicant can present a packet of documents arranged in the following order (item 1 should be page 1): 1. 2. This packet of documents must be accompanied, without exception by a valid Mexican passport issued by the Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Relations (S.R.E. Secretara de Relaciones Exteriores) or Mexican Consulate, the results of the applicants medical examination and Two (2) color recent photographs of each applicant, regardless of age (taken within the past six months of application date), no larger than 2 X 2 inches (5 X 5 cm.), with the distance from the top of the head to just below the chin about 1 (2.5 cm.) to 1 3/8 inch (3.4 cm.), the eye level is to be between 1 1/8 inch (2.8 cm.) to 1 3/8 inch (3.4 cm.) from bottom of the photo, printed on glossy thin paper, not mounted or retouched, the background must be white or off white, must show a fullface frontal view with the applicants eyes open. Digital photographs are acceptable on photo quality paper. An electronic copy is not acceptable. The photograph must exhibit an acceptable level of contrast. Hats and headgear are not authorized, unless worn daily for religious reasons. All original birth and marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and death certificates will be returned at the end of the interview, provided the applicant submitted photocopies of them as requested above.

Jurez, Mxico es el que procesa ms visas de inmigrante que cualquier otro en el mundo dentro del Servicio Exterior. Recientes cambios en la Ley de Inmigracin de los Estados Unidos de Norte Amrica requieren que los solicitantes de Visas de Inmigrante obtengan ciertas vacunas antes de la expedicin de una Visa de Inmigrante. Las clnicas autorizadas a practicar los exmenes mdicos a los solicitantes de Visas de Inmigrante se les ha requerido verifiquen que renan el requisito de vacunacin: A fin de asistir a los mdicos autorizados, y evitar retrasos en el proceso de una visa de inmigrante, todos los solicitantes debern tener sus registros de vacunacin disponibles para su revisin al momento en que acudan a su examen mdico para el trmite de su visa. Si no existe registro de vacuna, no se moleste en obtenerlo. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS CONCERNING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Recent changes to United States Immigration Law now require Immigrant Visa Applicants to obtain some of the vaccinations prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations on behalf of immigrant visa applicants are now required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met new vaccination requirements. In order to assist the panel physician, applicants should bring with them any available vaccination records. If there is no vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available if the panel physician concurs. Only the panel physician will determine which of the vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition. The cost of your vaccines will depend upon the type of vaccination(s), which you may be missing. Generally the cost varies from $30 to $200 dollars per applicant, or the equivalent in Mexican pesos, plus tax (I.V.A.). The vaccination fee is separate and apart from the cost of your required medical examination. Consulate employees are not authorized to give information in reference to vaccination requirements to the general public. The only authorized agencies to give this information are the panel physicians.

The date of your visa interview appointment is indicated in the letter that you received from the National Visa Center or the American Consulate General Ciudad Juarez. However, you should be aware that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to complete your medical examination BEFORE THAT DATE; we suggest that you make arrangements for your medical examination at least ONE or TWO days prior to your appointment date. NOTE: Applicants ages two (2) years to fourteen (14) years of age must undergo the medical examination at least four (4) work days prior to their scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays or rescheduling of initial appointment. It is also recommended that children within this age range should be immunized at least four (4) weeks prior to their medical examination Each applicant, regardless of age, must have a medical examination. Hours for receiving visa applicants are from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Doctors recommend that applicants 15 years old and over, not to eat for at least six hours prior to their examination. If you suffer from a chronic illness, have been treated for any venereal disease or are under psychiatric care, the Doctor recommends you to bring your medical file or have one forwarded to the Doctor prior to your medical examination. Each applicant must present the following documentation at time of medical appointment: A. Visa Appointment Letter. B. Passport. C. Required fee of U.S.D. $165.00 covering only the medical examination. No additional fee will be charged if supplemental examinations are required. Except for DNA testing, it will require that petitioner/applicant cover the expenses. The vaccination fee is separate from the cost of your required medical examination, see attached CDJ-439 form. D. The cost of medical exams for those under 15 years of age will be U.S.D. $135.00. E. A 10% tax (I.V.A.) must be added to the cost of the medical exam. F. It is not necessary to bring a photo for your medical exam, it will be provided by the medical clinic without charge.

La fecha de su cita para entrevista se indica en la carta que usted recibi del Centro Nacional de Visas o del Consulado General Americano en Ciudad Jurez. ES RESPONSABILIDAD SUYA tener con usted los resultados completos de su examen mdico ANTES DE SU CITA; por lo tanto, se le sugiere que arregle con uno o dos das de anticipacin los trmites del examen mdico. NOTA: Solicitantes de dos (2) aos a catorce (14) aos de edad debern practicarse el examen mdico por lo menos con cuatro (4) das laborales de anticipacin a su cita programada en el Consulado. El no hacerlo, puede resultar en retrasos o reprogramacin de su fecha de cita inicial. El horario que tienen para recibir a los solicitantes de visa es de 6:00 a 11:00 de la maana de lunes a viernes. El doctor recomienda que los solicitantes mayores de 15 aos, incluyendo jvenes que ya cumplieron 15 aos, se abstengan de comer cuando menos seis horas antes de ser examinados. As mismo, si usted tiene problema mdico crnico, ha sido tratado de cualquier enfermedad venrea o ha estado bajo cuidado psiquitrico, el doctor le recomienda que traiga un resumen mdico con usted o arregle que este le sea mandado al doctor antes de su examen mdico. Cada solicitante deber presentar lo siguiente al doctor que lo examine: A. Hoja de su cita. B. Pasaporte Mexicano o pasaporte del pas que le corresponda. C. Pagar al Doctor la cantidad de U.S.D. $165.00 o su equivalente en moneda nacional. Esta cantidad incluye solamente los exmenes clnicos necesarios, excepto por el examen del DNA. Ser necesario que el peticionario/ solicitante cubran los gastos que este genere. El costo de la(s) vacuna(s) es independiente del costo de su examen mdico regular, ver la forma CDJ-439 anexa a este paquete. D. El costo del examen mdico para los menores de 15 aos ser de U.S.D. $135.00. E. Al valor total del examen mdico se le deber agregar el 10% de I.V.A. F.
