Day 1 Focus: Theme: Topic: Listening and Speaking World of Self, Family and Friends Roy

Content Standard: By the end of the 6-year primary schooling: 2.1 pupils will be able to apply knowledge of sound of letters to recognize words in linear and non- linear text. 2.2 pupils will be able to demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non linear text in the form of print and non print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning. Learning Standard: 2.1.2 Able to recognize and articulate initial, medial and the final sounds in single syllable words within given context. 2.2.3 Able to read and understand sentences (3 5 words) in linear and non linear text with guidance. Learning Standard: 4.3.1 (d) Able to produce simple creative works with guidance based on stories. Time: Objectives: Teaching Aids: 60 minutes By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to create a book cover for the dialogue in groups. Manila card, mahjong paper, scissors

Activity 1. Teacher and pupils go through the dialogue once again. 2. Explain to the pupils that they are going to make a book cover based on the dialogue. 3. Teacher divides the class into groups. 4. Pupils decorate the cover and colour them. 5. Teacher guides the group in preparing for the performance. 6. Pupils present their works. Assessment: Each group is given marks by other groups. The best group will be rewarded.
