1
Getting Started

Open the ExamView Test Generator using the

shortcut on your desktop, or through the Start
Menu on a PC.
Select the ExamView Test Generator docbase;
or open the ExamView Assessment Suite folder
through your Applications folder on a Mac.

The first time you open the ExamView Test Generator,

the program, prompts you to enter your name,
school/institution name, and city/state.

The Startup window is displayed every time the ExamView

Test Generator is started.
Use the QuickTest Wizard or Test Builder options to create a
test.
Use the Question Bank Editor options to edit or add new
questions to a question bank.

Getting Started: The Startup Menu

The QuickTest Wizard provides easy to follow, step-by-

step instructions that will lead you through the process of
building a test in “x-number” steps.

The Test Builder gives you the option to create a new test
from scratch by selecting individual questions to include
on your new test.

You can also Open a previously saved test for editing or

printing. This option will open your test in the Test Builder
so you can print or edit using all the Test Builder options.

You can create a new question bank using the Question

Bank Editor. This option will allow you to add up to 250
questions of varying types—multiple choice, true/false,
essay, fill in, and more.

You can also open an existing question bank using the

Question Bank Editor. Using this option, you can edit
questions in any previously saved banks.

In order to maintain the original content that came

with your Test Generator, Glencoe strongly
recommends always creating a new question bank
instead of modifying the publisher-supplied banks.
