 Consultant - OSS Ericsson Local Support (December 2006 – December 2007)

The ELS engineer, supports the customer using CSR with the immediate solution to problem or escalate the
problem to be handled with second line support. ELS carries out preventive activities to their customers
requiring working around the year on updating and upgrading customer’s nodes to the latest software packages,
patches and releases in order to enhance and improve network performance and fix software bugs that may
occur during the operations.

 Handle CSR and perform 1st line troubleshooting regarding OSS. Use Primus application in order to
provide updated solutions to problems.
 Perform Preliminary Acceptance Test.

Major Contributions/Accomplishments:
 Fine tune existing scripts in order to correct problem.
 Performed 2G OSS Acceptance Test in Jeddah.
 Currently working to support RBT, separate from OSS which is an additional competency.
 Create UNIX Shell scripts for solution to problems.

Tools Environments Management
The areas of accountability for TEM are focused on the provisioning of environments in development and
production. Provisioning examples are requests for test environment configuration, software development tool
installations, component installation, and environment support. These environments will provide the stable
platform for testing in development, and a home for applications that are transitioned to production. TEM will
also provide environment support as requested, initial test data setup, test environment maintenance,
environment assignment and scheduling on the Mainframe, Midrange, Store Lab platforms.

 Provision environment in Development and Quality Assurance servers running on UNIX platform (Sun
Solaris, AIX) using IBM Websphere.
 Define rights, access, and roles in System and File Transfer (JEEPS Web Application.).
 Define File Transfer profiles using Commerce Quest Process Management (PM4Data).
Major Contributions/Accomplishments:
 Automate checking of SSL Ports using UNIX Shell Scripting.
 Automation of Websphere related requests using wsadmin and UNIX Shell Scripting.

Network Management System
Experienced in handling NetAct Family Applications like Nokia OSS GC 3.1, Traffica, Workflow Manager also
Ericsson OSS RC 2.2. The NMS Department handle, manage, and maintains Network Management Systems.

 Exposure to different Network Management Systems (Nokia, Ericsson) and UNIX platforms (HPUX, Sun
Solaris).
 Act as 1st line support to internal customers (NetAct Workflow Manager, Helpdesk, CSR).

Base Station Controller/Network Management Center Operations


The NMC Operations formerly part of the BSC Operations belongs to the Mobile Communications Group that
is responsible for the maintenance of 900/1800 GSM BSCs (Base Station Controller). Handling both Fault
Management, which ensures the smooth operation of the network and rapid correction of any kind of problems
that are detected, and Configuration Management that maintains up-to-date information about the operation and
configuration status of network elements.
 Acts as first line of defense from BSC/BTS related alarms (Nokia Alarm Monitor, Internal Alarms, Alarm
List Viewer)
 Troubleshoots, diagnose, and replace plug-in units in case of hardware related problems (Nokia DX)
 Performs BSC Maintenance through regular backups and other related activities (MML)
 Participates in BSC/BTS related activity such as Site Integration, Upgrade, Rehoming, and Configuration
(Nokia NetAct RNW)

Major Contributions/Accomplishments:
 Developed UNIX Shell Script utilized on LBS (Location Based Service) and CBS (Cell Broadcast
Service).
 Was involved in several major projects from different departments that require my expertise.
 Was able to perform Server upgrades and corrective patch installations.
 Was able to restore UNIX Application Servers from backup during system crash.
 Developed several Powerful UNIX Shell Scripts (more than 20 scripts) for performance and configuration
management.
 Developed several Windows based application based on UNIX Scripts and tools using Visual Basic 6.
 Resolved several BSC/BTS related problem cases through observation and proper coordination.
 Documented procedures to guide Administrators/Users in the proper management of a selected system.

Installation – Service Provisioning and Maintenance Group
The Installation – SPM Group is responsible for the actual implementation of New Installation, Move Address,
Move Service, and Change Equipment of Service Orders.
 Handle schedules and manages resources from various projects.
 Ensures that all Service Requests would be facilitated through actual fieldwork.

Service Order Management – Facilities Management Group


The Service Order Technical Support Staff is accountable for the management of all issued Service Orders,
ensuring its proper service order details, its timely issuance to implementing entities, progress monitoring and
completion documentation. Responsible to lease with all the necessary people to resolve any issues preventing
the timely and cost effectively of a service order. Also responsible in Facility Management, ensuring system
database is properly updated.
 Ensures timely and accurate workplan/scheduling issuance of Service Orders. Accuracy includes that
Service Orders are implementable in accordance to standard with proper facility allocation.
 Ensures documentation update in the Integrated Customer Management System (ICMS) using AS400 for
IBM platform and/or any other related database.

Major Contributions/Accomplishments:
 Organized a systematic approach for the proper distribution of Service Orders.
 Reconciled various unresolved Service Orders through observation, investigation, and proper coordination.
 Participated in the development of “Talking Pairs” utilized by field technicians.
 Participated in the deprogramming of unused Service Numbers.
 Participated in Sales through house-to-house campaign.
