Who? and How?

by Jehanie

Who and How, those are the questions. Who are the people behind Cursor? And how did
it start? Well, if you are inquisitive about it, then you should insist on reading this article.
Get to know more about the staff of Cursor and the history of this magazine-type-
publication of the College of Information Technology .

This official paper of the CIT was established in view of the fact that CIT is an
almost new institution of the Mindanao State University main campus and it needs
publicity. Cursor made its way through the work of Ali Rafsanjani A. Pikit. He is the one
who proposed to Ms. Maimona Marohomsalic, chairman of the CIT about implicating the
college’s authorized paper. The first notice about it was released through an
announcement saying that any interested Information Technology or Computer Science
students should pass an essay containing at least 500 words of why do they want to be
part of the first ever publication team of the college. Many submitted their composition.
But the chosen people are only 10 students composed of 3 fourth years and 7 first years.
They are Ali Rafsanjani “Ali” Pikit, Lyne Rose “Lyne” Campugan, Mohammad Usop
“Mho” Sugadol, Omar Hussein “Centz” Rande, Jemima “Jems” Bao, Mohamad
Abdulfarid “Maf” Delna, Mary Joy “Joy” Alfanta, Jireh Jude “Jireh” Ladera, Aliah
“Liah” Dida-agun and myself, Jehanie May “Jehanie” Macasawang.

Ali is the person who worked hard for this paper to be made into reality. He is a
fourth year Information Technology student. He gave the name “Cursor” to this
pamphlet. He is like the over-all planner of this thing. Lyne, the associate editor-in-chief
is also a fourth year IT student. Mho just like Ali and Lyne is a fourth year BS IT student.
He is the very active managing editor of this periodical. Aside from that, he is the vice
president of the MSU – BYTES, the CIT’s student council. The two feature editor, Centz
and Jems are both first years. Centz graduated high school from the Dansalan College
Foundation Inc. while Jems was the salutatorian of the 2007 graduates of the MSU –
UTC experimental campus. Maf, the literary editor, is not only a constituent of Cursor.
He is also part of the MSU – Varsitarian and the MSU – Scholars’ Society. The news
editor, Joy, the only Computer Science student among the staff is an entrance test scholar
and a salutatorian in her high school graduation. Jireh, the funny layout artist, is a Science
Scholar student. He finished his secondary learning at the Regional Science High School
in Cagayan De Oro City. And the remaining two correspondents are the one responsible
in the “cin and cout section” of this journal. They are Liah and Jehanie. Liah completed
her learnings in Dansalan College Foundation Inc. while Jehanie is an ILSian and a
member of the Ranao Council Inc. The two are both special muslim grant.

I guess, I have already engrossed enough X-factors information about the Cursor writers.
