AKRON, Ohio, May 3, 2011 Goodyear and blimps. Two things that go together like America and apple pie. And that long-standing tradition continues thanks to a new agreement with German zeppelin manufacturer ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik to supply The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with airships well into the next decade. "The Goodyear blimp is one of the most recognizable brand icons in the world. An event isn't considered truly special unless the Goodyear blimp is there to provide aerial coverage," said Richard J. Kramer, Goodyear chairman, chief executive officer and president. "I am pleased this investment will ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to experience the joy of seeing the Goodyear blimp grace the skies." During its long operational history, Goodyear has built and operated more than 300 airships including two large rigid airships the U.S.S. Macon and U.S.S. Akron. "Our current airships are approaching the end of their lifecycle, and we saw this as an opportunity to take the next evolutionary step in our airship program," said Nancy Jandrokovic, Goodyears director of Global Airship Operations. "Throughout the history of blimps, Goodyear has been an innovative leader. With Goodyear and Zeppelin working together again, we believe a new standard is about to set." The Zeppelin LZ N07 101 model airships will be built with Zeppelin and Goodyear airship teams at Goodyears Wingfoot Lake Airship Hangar near Akron, Ohio. Construction on the first airship is scheduled to start in 2013 and begin operating in 2014. "We are extremely pleased to renew the Zeppelin connection with the famous Goodyear blimp program," said Thomas Brandt, Chief Executive Officer of ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik GmbH & Co. KG. "Goodyear and Zeppelin worked together almost 90 years ago to bring rigid airship technology to America and were thrilled to be working together again." The new Goodyear-Zeppelin airships will be slightly larger than the airships in Goodyears current fleet, fly faster, carry more passengers and include state-of-the art avionics and flight control systems. ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik said the airships and technical support cost about $21 million (U.S.) each. For more than 85 years, the Goodyear blimps have appeared at the most watched news, entertainment and sporting events around the world. The blimps also heavily support local and national charities, and community emergency response programs. The company currently operates three airships in North America the Spirit of Goodyear in Akron, Ohio; the Spirit of Innovation in Pompano Beach, Florida; and the Spirit of America

in Carson, California. The company also has leased blimp operations in Europe and China. Goodyear is one of the worlds largest tire companies. It employs approximately 72,000 people and manufactures its products in 55 facilities in 22 countries around the world. <Mumbai 22 February 2011> - Goodyear Asia Pacific recently launched its latest tire from its award-winning Assurance line, the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max with Fuel Saving technology that provides 4% more fuel efficiency and 15% longer mileage than conventional tire technology. With safety at the heart of all Goodyear tires, the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is reinforced with the same DuPont Kevlar overlay a material that is five times stronger than steel that made its predecessor so successful. Designed for family cars in the mid and premium markets, consumers who are looking for value for money and safety can now achieve maximum fuel efficiency and maximum protection with this new tire. Rajeev Anand, vice chairman and managing director, Goodyear India said, In the current environment where the rising fuel costs are a huge concern, Fuel Max technology is designed to improve fuel consumption without compromising on mileage or performance. Assurance Fuel Max offers critical safety features such as a strong grip, puncture resistance, blow out resistance, shorter braking distance and anti-skid, making it the perfect choice for everyday city driving as well as the long distance weekend road trips, he added. More Fuel Efficiency and Longer Tread Life One of the ways to reduce fuel consumption is to decrease some of the frictions while it drives. Rolling resistance or rolling friction, is the resistance that occurs when a tire rolls on a flat surface. The greater the resistance, the greater the energy required to keep the tire rolling. Up to 20 per cent of a cars fuel consumption is due to the tires. Therefore a decrease in tire rolling friction leads to a reduction in fuel consumption.

The new Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max features an advanced full silica compound which reduces the friction between the tires rubber molecules and provides high resistance to abrasion, resulting in reduced fuel consumption and a longer tread life. Additionally, the tire is built with a hard base under the tread, which reduces deformation in the crown area and heat build-up, contributing to higher fuel efficiency. The tire also features even pressure distribution which helps reduce frictional energy caused by abrasion and heat at the tread surface, reducing the rate of wear. *In tests evaluated by TV SD Automotive GmbH as a technical witness partner, results showed that Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is 4% more fuel efficient than the companys previous generation of tire technology where the tread compound is carbon based. This test was conducted in Mireval, France using Citroen C4 1.6l on size 195/65 R15 versus Goodyear Ducaro GA (test report number 76243002-1, May 2010). In addition, based on internal tests conducted by Goodyear Innovation Center* Luxembourg, Assurance Fuel Max has a projected tread life of up to 85,777 km, which is 15% longer in tread life versus the previous technology (Goodyear Ducaro GA). This is the tire that pays you back. The savings gained from fuel efficiency over the life of the tire can defray a significant portion of the cost of the tire, said Anand. Fuel Saving Example New Assurance Fuel Maxs fuel efficiency improvement can lead to 160L of fuel savings. For example: If a 1.6L car has an average fuel consumption rate of 10L/100km, is fitted with Assurance Fuel Max on size 195/65R15 91V and travels a distance of 40,000 km, the potential fuel savings can be calculated as follows: 40,000 km (distance traveled) x 10L/100 km (fuel consumption rate) x 4% (fuel saving rate) = 160 L (potential fuel savings) Actual fuel savings and tread life may vary according to other factors including environment, road, vehicle conditions, vehicle model, and driving habits, etc. Maximum Protection against Road Hazards A layer DuPont Kevlar, a lightweight material which is five times stronger than steel, reinforces Assurance Fuel Max for added durability and protection against road hazards like potholes. This material is the same cutting-edge technology used in protective applications like bulletproof vests, industrial gloves and hoses. Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is also built with two plies in the sidewalls of the tire for increased durability and protection against dangerous road hazards.

A Comfortable and Quiet Ride The tire is designed with a four pitch sequence and high centerline block angles that helps to facilitate a smooth and quiet contact with the road. Shorter Braking and Grip on Wet and Dry Roads Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max is constructed with unique three dimensional waffle blades in the tread to enable improved lateral interlocking power while providing maximized circumferential decoupling. This technology delivers better braking and grip on both wet and dry surfaces. For maximum wet-traction, the tread has also been designed with four uninterrupted circumferential grooves, which provide room in the footprint for the tire to absorb and repel water, ensuring better aquaplaning resistance on wet roads. Gurgaon, March 8, 2011. In line with its core strategy of driving Safety Innovations, Goodyear India announced a special program called Women with Drive to celebrate the 100th International Womens Day in India.

As a tribute to women, Goodyear organized an exclusive car/tire maintenance and training session at one of its Branded Retail Outlet Dazzle in Gurgaon today. Women were taught car and tire care and service techniques to keep them safe on the road. They learned how a vehicle operates, ways to keep it dependable, how to check the tires, tips on safe driving and how to handle the most common motoring emergencies while on the move. Said DP Singh, VP- Consumer PBU, Goodyear India: "Seeing the increase in women drivers in the country, Goodyear India decided to introduce the 'Women with Drive' concept to the country. These workshops are aimed at providing women drivers a better understanding of car and tire basics and empowering them with a safe driving experience. We are happy to launch this program on the special occasion of 100 years of International Womens day" Goodyears Women with Drive started in Australia in 2007, and has been successfully implemented in other Asia Pacific countries including the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and China. These workshops are conducted free of charge across Goodyears branded retail network within the region.

The event in Gurgaon witnessed active participation by over 20 women drivers. The program started with providing basics on car and tire maintenance, followed by hands-on session on car dynamics and how to change a tyre. Goodyear also hosted various other interesting activities like exciting trivia, case studies and short quizzes engaging women drivers thus making the workshop more interactive.

Goodyear India Limited today announced its strategic initiative in organized tyre retailing, aimed at strengthening its presence in the large tyre replacement market in the country. At a press conference organized in the Capital today,Mr. Antonio Capellini, Managing Director, Goodyear India Ltd., announced that the company would be introducing its international format shop-in-shop outlets for the first time in India. This organized tyre-retailing format has proven to be very successful in other markets like China and the ASEAN countries and is a part of the global initiative to differentiate the Goodyear brand from competitors.The company will set up 50 shops in shop format branded stores by the end of 2006 and at least 100 more by end of next year. The first 6 stores would be opened in Chennai on 24th August, followed by 12-15 stores in North, South & West region and 3-5 stores in East region. All these outlets will be airconditioned, have international look-and-feel interiors and attractive range based display, utilize computerized software for easy access to tyre information; and carry prominent branding. Goodyear's space in the store in store format will vary in size between 400 900 sq. feet.
