COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides solid foundation on Power System Protection and Control, Design Protection Schemes, calibrate and coordinate protective relays, test and commission electrical equipment.

COURSE CONTENT COURSE OBJECTIVE:


At the end of the course, the participant will:Explain the basic concepts of relaying protection Identify various components of relay parts and their characteristics Interpret and use control circuits and device numbers Calculate fault levels and select right equipment ratings. Carryout relay settings and coordination Test and calibrate relay Carryout pre-commissioning tests on Power Transformer and othe associated equipment/devices Introduction to relaying Protection Principle and device number Control Circuits Fault Study analysis and short circuit calculations Relay Coordination Power Transformer and Connections Instrument Transformers Generator Protection Transformer Protection Basic Line Protection Fuse and Fuse Coordination Earthing Testing and maintenance of relays System Stability Basic Differential relay Auto Reclosing Scheme Overvoltage and surge Protection
