Area Development Plan (ADP) – Peninsular Gas Fields Development Project for
Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd
Senior Process Engineer and Assistant Project Manager for the pre-conceptual studies for
the development of 14 new gas platforms. Responsible for technical work and project
management aspect that includes preparing and presenting progress report and project
schedule. Facilitated concept selection workshop by providing technical guidance and

valve analysis for over 1500+ units of relief valve at both PSR-1 & PSR-2. Involved in data
collection, project guideline discussion and population of relief valve data equipment-by-
equipment into Berwanger’s PPM software. Responsible for coordinating technical progress
presentation.

Development of Pressure Relief Device Guideline for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd
Senior Process Engineer and Assistant Project Manager for developing technical,
operations and maintenance guideline for pressure relief devices based on industry practise
as per API, ASME & DIERS requirement. Involved in preparation of project schedule and
progress report. Responsible for data collection, preparing preliminary guideline format and
presenting preliminary project background to client.

Relief Valve Analysis for Bay Way Refinery New Jersey and Marathon Oil Gas Plant in
USA

Facilities Surveillance Engineer

1. Providing day-to-day facilities engineering technical support to Guntong field (1998 –

2001), Larut-A platform, Semangkok/Irong Barat field (2001-2003) and Terengganu
Crude Oil Terminal (TCOT) (2003 – 2005)
2. Analyzing key parameters and recommending action plan in order to maximize
production, reduce operation cost and increase safety standard

Asset Business Plan Development

Lead engineer responsible to assist Operation Superintendent in developing Guntong field
(1999 & 2000) and TCOT (2004) yearly business plan. Identify key focus areas in order to
align with company’s guiding principles. Creating specific objectives for the upcoming year
projects, uptime target, resource availability and expenditure profile.

Plant Shutdown Activities

Field engineer for coordinating platform shutdown activities for Guntong field (1999 – 2000).
Responsible to ensure smooth shutdown, timely back online and overall safe execution. This
is achieved by initiating team discussion, providing technical support during platform
shutdown and start up, and also implementing SIMOP procedures and safety initiatives.

Guntong D & Tabu B Gaslift Facilities

Lead the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project that contributed 10 kbd of oil to the company
in 1999. Designed and installed the topside gaslift facilities which includes the gaslift
monitoring system (GLMS) and the safety protection device per API 14C requirement.
Involved in preparation of procedure and executing the Tabu-B gas lift pipeline dewatering
and commissioning prior to start-up of the Tabu-B gaslift facilities.

Guntong D Dehydration Module Design Support and Commissioning

Key interface between operations and project department for the project that enables
processing of associated gas for Guntong D per specification for sales of gas in 2000.
Heavily involved from during refinement of detailed design until startup and commissioning.
Contributed in the development of Design Basis Memorandum and Engineering Technical
Data Book and participated in various design and operability risk assessment prior to
construction. Led the Platform Safety Startup Review (PSSR), preparation of startup
procedures and table-top startup simulation for offshore personnel.

Larut-A New Platform Design Support and Commisioning

Key interface between operations and project department for the project that involves
integrating of processing facilities such as water injection system, gas compression and
sales system, gas dehydration system and cooling water facilities in 2000 to 2002. Heavily
involved during the refinement of the detailed design until startup and commissioning.

Involved in Alarm & Shutdown Matrix review and water injection/gas compression/gas
dehydration system package review. Contributed in the development of Design Basis

water clarifier chemical in 2002 - 2005. Responsible for developing technical assessment
criteria based on recent field data, technical chemical analyses procedure based on ASTM
methods and executing “lab test” of chemical analyses at platform. Involved in the overall
technical assessment of chemical vendors and presentation to Petronas committee for
establishing long term contract.

TCOT Produced Water Skimmer Pit Re-Commissioning

Lead and coordinate re-comissioning activities of the produced water skimmer pit after fire
incident in 2004. Responsible to ensure safe and timely start up, all incident investigation
recommendations were closed out. Initiatives include grounding of electrical equipment,
major piping and transportation to prevent electric sparks and reduction of condensate
draining into the skimmer pit by re-designing piping.
