Bishop Steven Visit Bishop Steven will be in the parish on November 14th he will visit All Saints School, The Well, International Produce ltd, lunch with the wardens and the official opening of our TLG centre. If you have any comments or questions for the bishop speak to Don or the wardens. Wakefield Cathedral Share Scheme The cathedral is launching a share scheme for everyone to buy a share in the Cathedrals future helping to restore and revitalise it. Shares cost 250, if you purchase two or more shares then you can have a name engraved

in the stone in the Cathedral precincts. See Don for more details. Operation Christmas Child Please bring your completed shoe box to church on either 30th October or 6th November. If you need any further information please ask me. Thank you, Rachel Budby. PCC The minutes from the last meeting are in the pigeon holes. Following on from the success of the Easter Eggs. The Meaningful Chocolate Tree Decorations are an opportunity to buy chocolate decorations telling the Christmas story. Each box contains a Christmas story card, sticker set and six hand wrapped quality Fairtrade Chocolate decorations. They cost 3.95 per box, an order form is on the welcome desk, last date for ordering is Sunday 13th November. Ale and Hymns Wakefield Cathedral, Friday 18th November, 6.00 10.00 pm. Real Ale, food and your favourite hymns with our house band. Tickets (which include a souvenir glass and your first half of ale) are 4 in advance or 5 on the door. See notice board for more details. WOW Cheese and Wine Evening All ladies welcome to meet for cheese and wine at Roses house. For directions or a lift ask Rose or Anne. Come along and bring a friend. Wednesday 9th November, 7.30 pm. Church Walks Our next Monday afternoon walk will be on Monday 7th November - we meet at the Parish Church Rooms at 1.00 pm, this will be a walk of about 3 to 4 miles at Bretton Country Park where we will explore some of the new paths that have recently been opened up. Please let John and Kate (tel: 223893) know if you are planning to come. Our next Saturday day walk will be on the 19th November. Tanzania - The Next Chapter A service of celebration at 4.00 pm on Sunday 6th November at St Thomas Church Batley. See notice board for more details.
