Violence Against Women (16.014) The intention of the violence against women programs are to develop or enhance related to engaging men and youth in preventing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking by helping them develop mutually respectful, nonviolent relationships. The grant is used to start community based programs that encourage children and youth to pursue nonviolent relationships and reduce their risk of becoming victims or perpetrators of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual violence, or stalking. The grant also encourages programs that help men and boys to join women and girls to prevent violence against women and girls that should be conducted by individuals that have experience in conducting public education campaigns that address all forms of domestic violence, including child sexual abuse. He funding range of financial assistance provided can range from $250,000 to $350,000, but the average is $300,000 www.ovw.usdoj.gov

Child Support Enforcement (93.563) The intention of child support enforcement is to hold the absent parent(s) responsible for the medical and financial need of the child. The services consist of tracing the absent parent(s), medical and child support (financial), establishing relationship of child and parent. This program can be utilized by other relatives that are caring for the child such as grandparents. This assistance is offered by management through the use of formula grants. Each state is required to have a child support enforcement agency to provide services and collect what is due to the child from the absent parent(s). Community Food Projects (10.225) The purpose of the community food projects is to meet the food needs of low-income people; increase self-reliance of communities in providing for their own needs, and promote comprehensive responses to local food, farm, and nutrition issues. The program is to consist of access to high quality, affordable food among low-income households, and support for local food systems from urban gardening to local farms that

can provide quality fresh food that has minimal effects on the environment. The program should provide opportunities for community residents through local business, or other economic development, improved employment opportunities such as job training, youth apprenticeship, and school-to-work transition. Any proposal that is made must tie into community food needs and how those needs will be met. The successful applicants must provide matching funds, either in cash, or in-kind totally to at least 50 percent of the total cost of the project during the term of the grant award. Funds may be used to plan, acquire, or construct a building or facility, or require land necessary to carry out the funded project. The grant amount given per year is $4,800,000 for this project. The range and average will be decided if minimum or maximum amounts of funding per competitive project grant or cooperative agreement are established, these will be announced in the annual program announcement or request for application. www.nifa.usda.gov
