The Shore

South Section
On 4th May 2010 the Councils Transport, Infrastructure and Environment Committee approved a public consultation exercise to look at a series of environmental improvements at the Shore in Leith. The improvements are to be undertaken on the South Section of the Shore between Bernard Street and Tolbooth Wynd.

Extensive public consultation on a set of draft designs took place during April this year. The main aim of these proposals was to reduce traffic along the Shore and promote a stronger Caf Culture in the area. The feedback received from the consultation has been used to develop the final design which is now being presented.

The project is funded by:

The Councils Roads Maintenance Capital The Councils Neighbourhood Environment Projects The Councils Neighbourhood Revenue Heritage Lottery Fund Historic Scotland
Works are due to start on site in October 2011 and should be complete by April 2012.
