    Communication between the RSLogix Emulate 500 and RSView 32


    Open the RSEmulate 500 and communicate with RSLinx, then open the RSView Project and create a new project :

    Then expand the tree and select it first System and then Channel, In the window that appears select the type of network in the protocol DH-45 and the primary driver of communication we will use the topic configured in RSLinx (EMU500-1) then click ok and its showed on the left hand side in the first channel, close the window and then we double-click the node in the tree option of system.

    The node is configured as follows:

    Data Source: Direct Driver Name: Place a name to identify the node Channel: Choose the channel you configured in the previous step Station: through the browser will open a window on the RSLinx in which we select the PLC that will be used. Type: SLC5 (Enhanced) Timeout: 3 seconds

    After click Accept and Close.

    After that go to the tree and select Tag Database, at this point we

    configure the communication with the Emulate; so first we click in New and put a Name, in type we select the kind of output that our project work. Description: this field is optional. Data Source: Choose Device Node: Browse and select the Node that was created on the previous setup. Scan Class: A

    Address: Here we put the direction of output from our PLC (i.e. O:0/0.0) After this click on accept and close.

    Now expand the Graphics menu on the tree and double-click on Display. In the new windows if we right-click and choose Display Settings, we can put the settings of these window.

    In the library we can put the devices that we need to configure, once we put the device on the sixplay window we can go to set the path to communicate with the emulate. Example to set the path To set the path is placed a digital type output, and the device was chosen from the library>Shape as a way to simulate a round led.

    Then click apply and close. After these we can go to the RSLogix 500 and force our inputs and view the changes on our RSView Project, to do this click on the button play on the RSView32.
