This unit supplies the students with the knowledge of friendship and the qualities of having a good friendship. After finishing the lesson, student will have more knowledge of what a good friendship is, and know how to behave to people and the necessity of having a good friend.

Student Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

Students should know what qualities of a good friendship. Students should know how to keep a friendship long Students should know sentences and expressions for describing qualities of true friendship. Students should know how to describe a person Students should learn words related to qualities of friendship. Students should learn how to guess meaning in context, scan for specific information and passage comprehension. Students should know how to talk about peoples physical characteristics and personalities. Students should practise listening comprehension skill, know how to distinguish true and false statements and to take notes about given questions in order to answer. Students should know how to use Infinitve with to or without to.

Procedures:

Students look at the pictures and guess what they are about? Then answer the questions: - Have you got many friends? - Who is your best friend? - What do your friends and you do in your free time? Reading: Pre-reading: Students look at the picture in the book, listen to the teacher, read the poem then ask and answer the question, work in pairs: What do you think of the friend in the poem? . While-reading: Students will scan each passage in the text and answer the guiding questions given. Students listen to the teacher then read the passage and ask some new words if necessary. Students will do comprehension check with tasks in the textbook. Post-reading: Students will work in groups to discuss questions given.: Why do we need to have friends? Students report the result to the class Students will do some more extra exercises to practice their reading skills. Listening: Students will answer the question: Who is your best friend? What qualities & characteristics of your best friend do you admire? Students will listen to the recording and do task 1 Students will listen to the talk again and answer some questions on what they hear. Speaking: Students will do the matching game first after they do some tasks. Students will use some suggested vocabulary to decribe people After that, they will work in group, comparing and correcting their decription about

their friend and then report to class. Then, each of two will take roles in the conversation with the topic given by teacher Students will study some suggested sentences Writing: Students will be seated in pairs do the exercise by combining sentences Students will work individually to do the scrambled exercise Students will discuss in pairs, comparing details which adjectives used to describe in the exercise, and learn some words/expressions used to describe appearance and traits. After that, student will work in pairs to write a passege about their friend by following provided guildlines. Language Focus: Students will be seated in pair study pronunciation of words. The teacher will help them to distinguish /d/ and /t/ GRAMMAR: Students will be seated in pairs, studying to-infinitive and be infinitive structure, doing the exercises and comparing the answers with each others
