Designed and modeled nonlinear processes for the development and optimization of a UV based Ozone LIDAR Systems. (NASA GOLD and NASA HSRL projects). Hampton, VA Oct 1990 May 2000 Laser Engineer Laser Engineer with team of 50+ engineers on the LASE project to design and implement an autonomous water vapor LIDAR system for the ER-2 and DC-8 aircraft. Interpreted and communicated the requirements of the customer and translated them into final products that met or exceeded specifications. Monitored program progress and suggested improvements and / or modifications. Managed optic inventories, performed acceptance testing and maintained regular and frequent communications with internal and external suppliers. Participated in laser damage testing lab and performed optical damage safety threshold analysis of LASE project optical components. Directed R&D on an injection seeded Trippled pulsed titanium sapphire laser module which developed 25 mJ per pulse of UV at 289 and 299 nm at 30 Hz. Conducted experiments and analysis on laser properties of ultraviolet pumped laser materials such as Ce:LiSAF, Ce:LiCAF, as well as other cerium doped laser materials... Lead Scientist on Barium Nitrate based Raman laser for generating ultraviolet (UV) for ozone LIDAR system.
