Dance Dance Revolution 5th Mix a theme for sm-ssc (http://code.google.

com/p/sm-ssc/) Original theme by PatrickIIDX Port by AJ 187/SSC [Version: Alpha 7/20110505] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------==[Introduction]================================================================ One day, I got bored and decided to port PatrickIIDX's DDR 5th Mix from StepMania 3.9 to sm-ssc. This happened before Katze asked for my help in porting DDR Forever to sm-ssc. The experience with DDR Forever helped out the 5th Mix theme, and vice versa. :) Surprisingly, the development of Selling Out Made Simple 2 has helped this port of DDR 5th Mix. Go figure. ==[Notes]======================================================================= This theme requires sm-ssc v1.2.5 or better to function properly. This theme isn't complete, hence the alpha tag. There are things that have yet to be fixed. Some things I know about, some I don't. Like pretty much any other theme I deal with, there's some caveats. 1) It's optimized for CoinMode_Home with Event Mode turned on. That doesn't mean it accurately simulates 5th Mix CS's Event Mode yet, nor does that mean that the other two coin modes are completely unsupported. 2) StepMania Online is not (fully) supported yet. I started doing some work on it, but it's nowhere near done. This theme does not take Extra Stage into account, unlike PatrickIIDX's theme. There are no plans to support Extra Stage at this time. There are a lot of things I still have to do in the theme. todo.txt catalogues some of them. ==[Known Issues]================================================================ Japanese fonts could be better. They have been worked on a little bit. DifficultyList/StepsDisplayList likes to be a jerk about the number of charts it shows on first load. In addition, the cursor and frames don't always match up when you're not on a song. (e.g. Maniac, Basic, Trick) I have no idea how to fix these two issues at the moment. TextBanners aren't optimal when it comes to subtitles yet. This will be fixed. Card support is an optional feature that may or may not get implemented. (I'd rather have the Lua transforms be perfect for all situations as to make near-accurate 5th Mix Cards.) * glossary note: "Card" is the equivalent of the TextBanner in StepMania. DDR games used pre-made textures for this, which is why they could put whatever they want in them. (Some simulators [none of them mainstream] actually support this natively!) ScreenEvaluation takes a while to come up the first time. I don't know why this is, either. It seems to be a bug on sm-ssc's end, as it happens with a bunch of themes that I use. ==[Changelog]=================================================================== Beta 1 (2011/05/05) * Renamed ScoreFrames for sm-ssc v1.2.5. * StageDisplay shows proper number of stages left (works best in non-Event Mode

since I haven't coded Strict Mode yet), ported from SSC DDRMAX2. * Edited Balloon placement/animation; it's a bit more accurate now. * Modified placement of arrows on Gameplay for 1P/2P non-Doubles/Couple/Routine . * Slightly messed with the Life Frame and related items. * Added edit display on Gameplay. (Isn't completely perfect yet, as it doesn't limit edit names to 8 characters. It does expand names to 8 if they're less than that, though.) * Made a new AAAA icon for the MusicWheelItem grades. (It's temporary.) * Disabled forcing characters on ScreenDemonstration and ScreenJukebox if no characters are installed. * [post-sm-ssc v1.2.5] Used NullScoreString to fix ScoreDisplay not showing "---------" on non-song items. Alpha 6 (2011/03/15) * Fixed ScreenSelectCharacters not moving on if you have no characters install ed. * Added the ability to color ScreenInformation items differently. * Added Edit dots on ScreenSelectMusic. * Finally added Beginner icon to MusicWheel. (Why are there TWO metrics contro lling it?) * Tweaked DifficultyList icon bounce. * Changed S-Maniac color from Purple to Blue. * Fixed ScreenSelectStyle: it was possible to go back to Single in Home Mode after joining a second side. * Worked on Service menus some more. * Added characters to ScreenDemonstration and ScreenJukebox. * Started working on Diet Mode and Records screens. * Fixed Title Menu not remembering last selection. * Started working on Online Link section. * Implemented Long Version/Marathon balloons. * Added Length sort icon. * Tweaked Tran animation speed [sillybear] * Tweaked player options font (Gameplay/Evaluation) * Fixed stars on Gameplay cleared. * Added "Press Start" message on ScreenTitleJoin (CoinMode Pay & Free) * Started working on main Gallery screen. Alpha 4 (2010/12/26) * Private release. Not surprised, are you? * Made notes draw over combo and difficulty icon on Gameplay. * Started working on Online screens. Alpha 3 Semi-Public release (2010/12/25) * Merry Christmas! Alpha 3 (2010/12/23) * Yet another limited release. * Fixed ScreenSelectCharacters showing up if no characters are installed. This has the side effect of removing character icons from headers. (Thanks to tweak and shakesoda for reporting this bug.) * Fixed various animations. * Added "Press 1P/2P Start Button" graphics on SelectStyle in non-Home modes. * Edits now show up within [] as intended. (Gameplay only) * Section font changed slightly. * Bonus bar added on eval; goes by percent score. * Completed options background frame. * Adjusted y position of Judgment and Combo. * Added Edit/Practice background. * Implemented an early version of Information Mode. * Split out SelMusic character icons into base/diffuse layers. You can do what you wish with this theme, hopefully giving credit to PatrickIIDX and myself (for the metrics and Lua, respectively), though not required. All we ask is that you don't use this to make a bootleg DDR 5th Mi x, since that'd be a terrible thing.
