Analysis NMIMS 11th December 2005

The NMIMS paper this year was no big surprise and it maintained the same difficulty standards.
The Reasoning section was of average difficulty level but time-consuming. However the paper pattern remains
the same with five sections to solve in 150 minutes.

Total number of questions: 200.

Negative marking: 1/3.

SECTIONAL BREAK – UP

Verbal Ability
The paper had a greater concentration of grammar-based questions and analogies. The passages being long
they were more time-consuming and had inference-based questions so it was better to attempt grammar-based
questions.

Comment: In this section, one can easily attempt 22+ questions and obtain a score of at least 14+

Overall Cut Off


The paper was easier than previous year’s NMAT paper. In addition to this, the General
Awareness Section was much simpler. As a result the overall cut – off is expected to be
higher this year as compared to last year’s cut – off (81.66). The cut – off this year is
expected to be 86+.
