people of Indonesia. The Institute has been at the forefront of socioeconomic research in Indonesia
and has actively published and reported its research findings. We are looking for qualified
Indonesian nationals for the positions of:
• Assist the Director in all aspects of management to enhance the overall quality, efficiency, and
effectiveness of the Institute’s Administration, Finance, and Information/Publications Divisions.
• Coordinate short-term and long-term strategic planning of the Institute.
• Manage and supervise operations of Administration, Finance, and Information/Publications
Divisions.
• Work closely with the Deputy Director for Research in all activities of the Institute.
Required Qualifications:
• A degree in Management or other relevant field with a minimum of 10 years relevant work
experience in administration, finance, human resource development.
• Candidate must have experience managing short-term and long-term plans, including budgeting.
• Proven leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to consult with
SMERU’s stakeholders, i.e: its Board of Governors, management, donors, partner agencies, and
staff.
• A high level of fluency in both written and spoken English.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Ability to work independently in a creative manner, perform at a high level, and has the maturity
and confidence to motivate staff and interact with staff at all levels.
• Experience in developing and implementing financial management systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of Indonesia’s research environment.
• Working experience in non-profit organizations.
Quantitative Researchers
• Undertake research projects, which include: drafting research proposal, determining research
methodology, designing research instruments, supervising fieldwork, carrying out data analysis,
composing research report, and presenting the results to internal and external audiences.
• Disseminate and publish research results in various outlets, particularly SMERU reports and
refereed journals.
