2. The terminal degree should be recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). 3. Additional Experience: i. The experience should have been of clinical, laboratory, teaching and /or research work in the relevant specialty, gathered at recognised teaching hospitals or tertiary centres of medical care. ii. Experience after completion of the terminal degree will only be counted towards the additional experience requirement. In other words, exerience gathered as part of a terminal degree or diplomate of national board (DNB) program, shall not be counted as additional experience. iii. The date, month and year of passing the degree and details of experience must be given clearly to assess the experience requirement. iv. The additional experience as on the application deadline will be taken into account. A grace period of upto one month experience after the application deadline will be allowed in case of candidates with continuing professional appointments. However, the candidate must actually complete the anticipated period before he / she can be considered for appointment. B. Scale of pay attached to the post advertised: 1. C. General Conditions of Employment: 1. Upper age limit for the post of Assistant Professors is 50 years. 2. The Institutes work environment: i. Following is a partial description of the Institutes goals, mission, learning and working environment a. The NIMS has been founded on the triad of nonprofit motive, excellence and speciality medical care. b. The Institute is a tertiary care university hospital with a motto of excellence in patient care, teaching and research. c. Professionals here spend long hours at the Institute, share a tradition of inter-departmental consultations and clinical team work. d. The Institute is application oriented focussing on cutting edge professional practice and clinical work. e. The Institute enjoys strong and unequivocal mandate of the community and is inturn committed to serving the public with emergency and excellent medical care. ii. The Institutes working hours are from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Faculty are expected to be available for emergency patient care at short notice. iii. Faculty may be assigned night duty in case of necessity. iv. Faculty agree to comply with the academic and professional standards of the Institute, complement and enrich its work environment. 3. Full time commitment: i. Faculties at the Institute are expected to devote their complete professional attention fully and exclusively towards activities of the Institute. Private practice in any form is prohibited. Direct or indirect consultation, outside of the Institute, is not allowed. 4. Academic requirements: i. The faculty are required to attend all of the following. ii. Common academic activities of the Institute are usually provided in the Academic Diary. Additional sessions are notified by the Deanery from time to time. iii. Departmental teaching activities consist of; (a) mandatory departmental activity schedule prescribed by the Deanery, and (b) additional departmental activities fixed by the respective Departmental faculty committees. iv. Interdepartmental teaching programs relevant to the concerned specialty. 5. Conduct: i. The faculty shall abide by the rules and regulation of the Institute. ii. Violation of the conduct rules may result in loss of good administrative standing. iii. The faculty shall maintain confidentiality of Institute information, at all times. iv. All data and documentation developed during the period of appointment become the property of the Institute. 6. Medical fitness: The candidate shall undergo complete Medical Examination for fitness by the specialists of NIMS or those nominated by it before joining the Institute and produce certificate of medical fitness on the date of joining. 7. Bond : The newly joining faculty are required to execute a bond on Rs. 100/non-judicial stamp paper to serve the Institute continuously for a period of two years failing which he/she will pay Rs. 2,00,000.00. 8. The notice period for resignation by any faculty or termination of employment by the Institute are as follows: i. During the period of probation: One month or equivalent salary, on either side.

ii. After the period of probation: Three months or equivalent salary, on either side. iii. The notice period requirement is in addition to fulfillment of the bond conditions mentioned in para 7 above. iv. Appointment offers will stand withdrawn, in the case there is any discrepancy between the information provided by the candidate and the facts of the case. 9. Transfers and postings: The Director or any competent authority subordinate to the Director as defined In NIMS Act 1989 read along with standing order No. 5 Clause 30 of NIMS has a right to post or transfer the said incumbent to serve in any post borne on the cadre of NIMS. 10. Newly appointed faculty are required to be on probation for a period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years as per rule 12 of Standing Order # 5 dated 21.11.1994. 11. The employees of the Institute are governed by NIMS service rules in all matters relating to service. D. Application Procedure: 1. Adopt the given application format and fill in complete information against various items. 2. Attach self-attested copies of the following documents. i. High School Certificate or other evidence of the date of your birth. ii. MBSS Certficate. iii. Medical Council Registration Certificate. iv. Terminal degree certificate (MD/MS/DM/MCh) for your specialty. v. Additional experience certificate where required. vi. Reprints or copies of your publication(s) for which you are among the first three authors. 3. Attach a demand draft for Rs500/- drawn in the name of Director, NIMS payable at any bank branch in Hyderabad, India. 4. Candidates must disclose information, if they applied for faculty positions at this Institute in the past, and give details of the date of the notification in response to which that application was made. 5. The qualifications, age, experience, shall be supported by self attested copies. 6. Application form has to be submitted along with the enclosures relevant to the qualification, experience, age and publications if any, addressed to the Executive Registrar, Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences, Punjagutta, Hyderabad 500 082. 7. Candidates who are already employed should forward their applications through proper channel. An advance copy should reach the Institute before the last date. The forwarded application should be available to the Institute, as soon as possible, and not later than within 15 calendar days from the last date for receipt of applications. Properly forwarded application is one of the requirements for presentation of candidates to the selection committee. 8. Persons who held regular faculty positions at this Institute and resigned within five years from the date of the notification, need not apply. 9. Persons considered by any Faculty Selection Committees within one year from the date of this notification, and found not suitable for faculty positions, will not be considered. E. Selection Process: 1. Elligible candidates will be invited to appear before a Faculty Selection Committee, including experts from relevant fields in addition to the Institute Officers.

2. The Faculty Selection Committee will review the candidates curriculum vitae, publications, and professional experience. The Committee will engage the candidate with intellectual and professional conversation, to understand the candidates interests, comprehension and articulation of professional and practice related concepts. 3. Recruitment decision will be largely, but not entirely based on the recommendations of the Faculty Selection Committee, subject to satisfaction of MCI norms, the Institutes standing orders, and statutory requirement as applicable. 4. Offer of appointment will be against vacancies in regular cadre strength. 5. Candidates shall attend the interview at their own cost. 6.
